Great idea built cheaply
I bought one of these devices and was disappointed from the moment I opened the box. The instructions are basically non-existent and done by pictures. When I went to take the battery cover off, it is near impossible. The provided battery was dead or near so. I put a new battery in and when it was connected to the computer, Windows 8.1, only the right button worked. This happened on two different computers. Mind you when I tried it on a Windows 7 computer, it worked great. I wrote the company and they whinged and told me they would have to decide if there was something wrong before they would give me a refund. I tried again to use it on the Windows 8.1 computers and then it seemed to work. The scroll wheel is jumpy and the buttons work most of the time but not always. To try and use it as an actual mouse on a hard surface is a joke. You might get some movement of the mouse pointer on your screen but it is so inconsistent and jumpy as to be useless. I think it has a short in it since sometimes it works and others not. This a great idea for a mouse/trackball but if it had been built by Logitec or Microsoft it would not have these issues. I won't buy another and this one will end up in the bin soon enough. It is not worth the cost to ship it back and hope for a refund or replacement that actually works.

Jumps around
Track ball is loose so to use it effectively keep it up. You can't effectively lay it flat on a table, etc.Even at 400 dpi (most sensitive setting) it's hard to sensitively point even when ball is up.Mouse clicks require excessive pressure straining your hand when clicking and dragging and can't claim to be ergonomic due to this strain. The only plus is, holding the flat against the palm of your left hand and still holding the ball up, it is useable in your left hand.I'm a bit ticked at Logitech also since its devices take over a USB port. I couldn't install this on the same port if I used a Logitech device on that port.I'm relegating this to second class status amongst my mice, touchpads, and trackball pointing devices. I prefer trackballs, but not this one.

Disappointed
Sounded like a great idea--a mouse and trackball in one. Unfortunately, the implementation does not live up to the vision. As others have noted, the trackball is too loose in its socket, thereby making it very difficult to get precise movement/placement of the cursor. In addition, there is no way to turn of the trackball when using it as a mouse. As such, a slight touch of the trackball shifts the cursor position from where you would expect it to be.Lastly, the trackwheel on the item I received is in a different position than that shown in the picture. Rather than being parallel to the table, it was at an angle behind the natural position of my thumb. This made it uncomfortable to use.Unfortunately, given the design flaws and the build quality for the price, I cannot recommend this product, and would not have bought it knowing what I know now.

It does not work properly
The ball sticks all the time and then the cursor goes all over the place trying to get it unstuck which makes it not usable while playing any games that have time limits. I would return it if I had not already thrown out all the packaging for it. It is stuck away in a drawer never to see daylight again! I have not thrown it out because I use it as a reminder not to get anything like it again. I DO NOT recommend buying it!

Scroll Wheel Performance Erratic
I've been using this mouse for about 18 months. I bought to be able to work on my computer with the mouse in front of the keyboard instead of beside it to take repetitive stress off my shoulder.I've been happy with the way it performs as a normal mouse using the two buttons and pressing the scroll wheel for the third button. I've never used the ball, since it only works if you pick the mouse up off the desk.My biggest disappointment is the wheel is extremely erratic and completely useless for scrolling or zooming. Since a significant part of my job is working in CAD/BIM, the scrolling/zooming performance has become too annoying. I've finally decided it's time to replace it.

pro wrist position con construction
At first i couldnt get it to work but eventually after taking out the battery a few times it finally worked. Its a bit awkward at first. It works best with track ball faceing up. And when you click the buttons if you dont lift your finger off the ball you will move it(dont recommend for gaming). After not being used for a few minutes it hibernates, just click the button and it comes back on. Every once and awhile when im scolling it will activate the trackball scroller without me pressing down on the scroll button. Its not a english based company becuase the instructions are in bad english. I assume its cheap construct causing the glitches, but they dont bother me. Overall I like it because I can keep my wrist in any position comfortable for me.

The comfort of controlling a mouse when using your laptop
I like the mouse itself. It gives me the control I have been looking. I do not know why they do not make one like this that has a can charge with a stand. The battery does not last as long. The mouse itself does not have the great quality, yet it does work. So far is the only one I have found in this style. The easy of use when you are researching the web make it nice.

Great evolution of the traditional mouse.
Dual track ball movement with traditional style mouse function is a great combo for when you are changing from presentation to desk top. make a great TV mouse for the living room. Scroll wheel location is in a good location. Only issue is that the Ball is loose in the grommet and the slightest movement causes the curser to move on screen. But it is not that difficult to become accustom to moving you thumb off the ball to click the mouse buttons. This keeps the curser from jumping off icons when you click.

Two Stars
it is annoying as the ball is unsteady (not fixed enough), thus exact mouse positioning is not possible.
