This was such a a great party favor. Kids and adults had a lot of fun with it! Great value for the money

I bought these to put in Goody bags for work because I remember growing up with these and being so fascinated. I didn't think adults would appreciate it but I knew that they would definitely share it with their kids or grandkids and sure enough that was all the feedback I got. it's a fun little knickknack to pass on to the next generation. What you see is what you get a little red plastic fish in a little plastic sleeve. Who tells your fortune as best it can with mystic mystery and static electricity.

I use these each year as part of a nature of science activity. The students try to figure out what makes the fish curl differently for each of them. These work well. Originally they had other kinds of fortunes on the package that worked a little better. These being more about emotion I had to spin a little different tale about them for the activity... but they worked great and they are inexpensive enough that I can always just let the students have theirs when we are done.

Saw a u tube seller order this and they looked like so much fun that I ordered them for my granddaughter to give to her friends-I tried one and thought they would be fun at Christmas

I bought these for nostalgia. There was a magician who would come into town with these and my boyfriend and his family grew up seeing the miracle fish. A quick Amazon search lead me to these and he recognized them. The package was exactly as described. The fish react to heat and curl up in your palm. Each fish comes with a card that explains what each reaction represents. These will make great stocking stuffers and we have plenty to go around.Update: Each fish is reusable! They react to heat and they curl up so, if you set them down, they will flatten out and you can pick the fish up again for a second reaction. And each fish comes inside of a thin plastic pouch. The back of the pouch says what each reaction represents.

Teachers - I'd recommend buy a pack or two of these and providing them to your students... without the sleeves. Why do these curl up in some students' hands and not in others? What could be the differences that lead to what we observe--heat, moisture, wind, static? Great activity to generate student questions. Then have them design a short experiment (or four!) to test the class's hypotheses. You may not be able to come to a conclusion, but that's often how science works. Makes a great "nature of science" warm-up activity at the beginning of the year, especially for classes where you are committed to aligning your teaching to the NGSS.
