Worked amazing and high quality
This was the best auto water shut off I have purchased. Way better than all the plastic ones.

Direct replacement for failed 20+ year old leveler
Screwed right in to where I unscrewed a broken one that had to be 20+ years old. The old one was flaky and wouldn't always shut off fully due to aging rubber and some calcium buildup. This one works great and adjusts simply, and holds its setting well. Does what its supposed to, and that's all that matters.

Good quality
Had to remove the float to install.

Pretty much identical to what I pulled out of my pool
None of the other fill valves I could find online have very good reviews. Even my local pool supply stores only carry the $10-15 units that have poor ratings on Amazon. So I bit the bullet and bought this one, figuring if the first one lasted 12 years in hard Las Vegas water before it crudded up and the seal was destroyed, then maybe...I only put it in a few days ago, so I can't speak to its longevity, but I can say that this valve does have the stainless steel insert and a rubber flat seal. The units in my pool supply stores were all brass without any seals.Worth noting also is that this valve (at least the brass portion) is manufactured in the USA (St. Louis, MO). Seems like any USA-made metal parts that I've bought lately are 3 times the cost, but significantly higher quality.Update 9/4/16: Almost 3 years later and I have had zero issues with this leveler. I haven't had to adjust it a single time since installation.Update 3/31/19: Well, it finally bit the dust. My pool level varied very little over the 5+ years that this was in operation, but today I went to check it and the float just fell off in my hand. The brass had corroded and was very brittle. I think I'm gonna try my luck with a plastic leveler. I don't know what the life expectancy is for these - maybe 5 years is average - but I feel like I should have gotten more longevity out of it. As such, I've lowered the rating to 4 stars.

Ease of installation; quality of product.
My 4 year old pool water level float stopped working, so I ordered this one. There are a lot to choose from, so I upgraded to a brass one instead . Also because it’s made in the USA! Highly recommended.

Valve sticks open.
It worked ok for a couple weeks of intermittent use. I was making a few adjustments to optimize the level. It started to leak and at the last adjustment became almost frozen when the float no longer exerted enough force to lift the float. Water was coming out almost full force even when the float was submerged. When i stopped the water flow and removed it i experienced that it was no longer feely moving and required way too much effort to manually lift the float against gravity to close the valve....the float in displaced water would not provide that much force.I reported it as defective and Amazon was quick to send a replacement. When i removed it from the package, it moved very freely a half dozen times, Eureka! I was relieved; then after a few more cycles, I noticed it started to freeze up just like the first one. I tried some lube on the first one as a diagnostic test, and it actuated much more easily. But, that won't last under water. As such, it is useless unless there is some under submersible lubricant. Anyone have any suggestions?
