very bright light. the magnet on the end is strong and hold the light in various positions. very useful for working on the car, etc. let's see how it stands up to the test of time and use. for now very happy with it.!!! UPDATE 12-NOV-2015 !!!I was very happy with this flashlight until it stopped working. Went to turn in on last night while fixing the car and nothing worked. Thought it was the batteries so I put in a fresh set and still nothing. This light was bright and compact but definitely not reliable for me. Luckily I had a spare flashlight that I ended up using but be warned that if you are buying this and count on it always working carry a spare just in case. I am disappointed that it stopped working, especially since I store it in the car in it's case and it never get's wet or dropped, etc.

I love the design of this light. The magnetic base is very handy. Shortly after receiving the light the handle would not slide all the way closed. It left a gap of about a 1/4 inch revealed. Couldn't figure out what was keeping it from closing all the way. Secondly: After installing some new batteries in it, I pulled the slide open to test the flood light and the entire head portion of the flashlight separated from the body. The connections broke and the light came completely apart. I guess you get what you pay for. Had to throw it away. Too bad cause I really liked it.

damn !! hard to get excited about a flashlight but great bright light beam, great magnet to hold it in place, nice option to extend and light up a work area.UPDATE: Can't imagine 'Special Ops' could use this. One splash into a puddle during the night and the insides rusted to a point of no return. What good is the rubber washer when it didn't keep any moisture out.

I purchased 2ea. Special Ops ultimate multipurpose lights. I found the battery life a problem if you plan to use the light for longer projects, which directly lead to the problem another reviewer experienced. "During the disassembly to replace the batteries, the unit came apart" In my case and broke two thin wires that were attached to wafer thin board with the LED bulb, switch assemble fell out, into a pile of parts. If you look at this product in this state, you see plastic, light construction with Rube Goldberg engineering. Just one example is the large rubber light switch on the side, if you place it in your pocket, this switch will engage , even when it is stored in the nylon carrying case. If you do accidently engage the light when the light bar is on, you may not see the light is on. In 2 months I changed the batteries three times.I have several LED lights, all still work and I though the concept was good, however in short order I seemed to find every weak link in this light.After looking on the Airwest web site for an e-mail to write for a return, explain my experience; there is no phone number , not even a mention for a customer service contact. That is why this light gets a special Amazon review.. Run my friends there are better options out there...My guess is this light is produced cheaply , marketed as a professional type product. I assure you this is more a stocking stuffer for kids than a " Special Ops product.

I ordered 15 of these I had one make a popping sound when it was first used. The light doesn't light and the flashlight gets super hot an obvious lemon of the lot. The other 14 are great exactly as I expected.

This is an excellent flashlight to keep around the house for whenever you need a convenient, bright light for a task. I have had it now for almost a month, have used it for a car job and a laptop job for illumination. It stays in place next to my desktop PC thanks to the bitchin' strong magnet that is excellent for sticking to things and staying there. I have used this light a solid amount in the time I have had it (definitely not a huge amount of use, but not a small amount either) and the light is still very bright on the same set of AAA's I put in it. I'm impressed by this, as I was worried the light would drain over time regardless of use. The packaging area is weak, but I didn't care about that and knew it when I bought it. The carrying case it comes with is nice but I don't have much use for it.Again, this is an excellent flashlight. The only usage I think it would NOT be good for is if you are going to beat the hell out of it. This light is NOT built to take tons of abuse (even if the name makes it seem like it will). This is meant to be a work light that can take a few drops and still hold up, not something you keep in the car 24/7 with lots of extreme heat and/or cold temperatures. But for about $20 (what I paid for it), this is an excellent value that will last with moderate usage and beating. If you want to beat the hell out of it and still have it last, spend more money on a higher quality product.

it was great when i got it, after a couple of uses, everything just stop working, i was going to send it back, was going to send it back, not worst it.

This product actually never really worked correctly. Beware of what you buy on line.
