My bulldog wears a medium size. Measure the widest part of your Shepherds cheat. My English/French Bulldog is 24" around. The straps were very long to extend. I had to cut them shorter and burn the ends for a good neat fit. I hope that helps some. The vest is made really well and durable. Just not a big fan of the bungee cord.
