Deliver to Romania

From the Author Yeah, I know. You're probably looking at this book, thinking, What the heck is this? Is it something I'd like? The trouble with being an off-beat weirdo writer is that I can't neatly align my books with other writers' books. I don't stick to a single genre. I'll write anything from wacky humor to space spies. It just depends on what characters are talking to me at the time. That's what you can count on with my stories--fully realized characters who will feel like friends you want to root for. I aim to deliver a well-written story that will take you on a journey with someone worth going on a journey with. Whether that happens in a space ship, a steampunk storemobile, or inside a corporate network, I hope you'll vote for the off-beat weirdo and give it a try. Chapter one
After having read all other Avian-unit books I was really looking forward to getting the background story for Fallon and her teammates. And a background story it is.The writing is similar to the other books, so the reading pleasure is surely there. Only... there's no story. It feels like this is just chapter one of a book instead of the first book in a series. A story should at least have a beginning, a middle and an end. With some kind of build-up of suspense, action or other climax. We read a chronological account from the day Emiko (Fallon) enters the PAC Acadamy, single-mindedly training to become a black-ops officer. We follow her growth through the years in school without much happening. Even without much challenge for our hero-to-be. I liked to read her attempt at being in a relationship-that-is-not-a-relationship with Drew, her future teammate Raptor.I would have liked and expected a complete story where we would get the background as well some actual action and intrigue. So while I am looking forward to reading the other books in the Chains of Command series I will look at this book as the first chapter and not as a book in itself.

A very enjoyable read the adventure is well put together and the characters are developed in such a manor that it leaves me wanting to read the next book.
Zen DiPietro what a good name for a Science Fiction Author has shown that she is a very accomplished writer her character development is outstanding her attention to detail leaves me wondering why I have never read her before after finishing this first book I can’t wait to continue reading the series I have full confidence that she will continue to meet the high standards that she has set. You must find that the investment of time reading and money spent are well worth it. I find myself immediately going to buy the next installments for my reading pleasure.

The story begins. Fallon as she is finally known, gets started, and becomes black ops
This is book zero for most of the Trancelucent novels and spinoffs. How Fallon is trained under a false name to become a security officer. How she meets her colleagues and helps in their training, one of them before she even knows that he is going to be in here team. Test after test, and the group is formed, and then the fun starts. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Come to think of it, I want some Bennite Stew...

Very enjoyable read
I am a long-time SciFi reader. This author's style is enjoyable and entertaining. This series is interesting and insightful without being overbearing. I just finished the first book and immediately purchased all the remaining books he has written. Read the first book and you also will buy all his others.
