Absolutely worth it to have the built in stand.
Great case - reasonably priced - I would highly recommend it. This case is great for reading on the plan or else at your desk. It sounds like a little thing but holding the Kindle over a prolonged period of time gets tiresome - yes I know we all did so with actual books long before the electronic versions came forth. Still having said that, it IS bothersome to hold the kindle on a plane or at the desk. It is so much nicer to set it on the planes seat tray and simply flip the pages. If you are an avid reader, as I am, AND you like your fonts somewhat on the large side, this case is the way to go. You set it down and simply flip the pages. We have all become quite spoiled with these various electronic devises in our lives but this one is truly worth it. Indulge yourself. Buy this case.

This isn't Leather, it's some type of cheap vinyl. But will use for travel
I wasn't expecting anything great when i ordered this case since it was so cheap. I ordered it with out much research because i just purchased a new kindle and i'm going on a business trip in a few days from writing this review and wanted to have something to protect my new kindle on my trip. Also the position stand stuck out to me since i knew i would like that feature. Anyway i got this case last night and i'm a little disappointing. Right when i opened the box and saw the packaging for the case itself. It had flee market kiosk written all over it. What i mean is it looked like something that would me hanging from one of those kiosk with a bunch of crappy cellphone cases like you see at the mall where usually someone w really poor English is selling them.So it comes in this cheap ziplock looking bag and while opening it i get a thick smell similar to nail polish and other chemical smells. So right away even before touching it or getting a good luck at it i knew this thing was not leather at all. So i pull it out of the ziplock bag and yeah its made out of some cheap vinyl material. All i thought was "thats why it was $16 bucks, genuine leather my butt".After sliding the kindle into place everything seemed really bulky compared to my wife's kindle book style case. I dont like the bulky feel of the case and realize that this case is only good for the positioning stand feature. Also it doesnt seem like the kindle fits in right or maybe thats because its a cheap case it feels well cheap.I'll go ahead and keep this case for traveling mainly because of the positioning stand feature. I know i'll use that on the tray in front of me while on a plane. I'm still going to by another case though. i would like to have a separate case for home and a case for travel anyway because of wear and tear. Also because of germs. Therefore this cheap case will be perfect for that.

I love this case --- very affordable --- exceeds espectations
I love the Acase Genuine Leather Flip Case for Kindle 3 (Keyboard) with Multiple Position Stand (Black) .The construction is good. Have had it for over 6 months, taken it on one vacation exposed to sun, pool water, sunscreen and it looks as good as new. Ports and buttons are easily accessible. The best part about the case is:a) it flips open vertically rather than horizontally --- no clasp in the way of next/prev buttons.b) the multiple position stand --- HANDSFREE!!My wife also has a Kindle Keyboard with a case she got from Ebay (different design) that looks like a leather notebook cover. It's a well-built case but it had a magnetic clasp on the right side that basically, when in the folded over (reading) position, got in the way of the next/prev page buttons, she had to fold it behind her thumb so it didn't get in the way. Not too annoying but still ... not ideal. This case opens differently. There is a flap about 3-1/2" that wrap over the top that stays in place thanks to two magnets. Undo this flap and you can flip the top thanks to a living hinge on the bottom. You can use it one of two ways:1) hand-held2) hands-free multiple position standIn hand-held position, you flip it completely around, the magnetic closure flap can magnetically stay in place (just sandwich it between the front and back cover. If you move it in your hands alot, you'll notice some vertical play because of the living hinge on the bottom allows the top flap to shift up/down. It isn't really a problem but more of an observation. If you hold it stationary, the Kindle weight will naturally shift it down as much as possible and take up whatever slack the living hinge will provide. In hands-free, AWESOME!!! I love being able to be on vacation, lounging and propping up the Kindle using the multiple-position stand. It's so simple in design and works great. The stand is visible on the back and takes away from the clean appearance but seriously, who cares ... it's great to be able to prop the Kindle up at an angle and only have to touch it to change pages, then continue on your peaceful resting zen :)Another bonus ... being able to stand it up on a kitchen counter to display recipes (if you're "THAT" kind of Kindle user that is.The only "potential" weakness I can see is the durability of the living hinge. It's basically nothing more than a single layer of (genuine) leather. It seems flimsy compared to the rest of the case but considering that it still looks like new after 6 months, I'm hoping that it came off the same cow as my leather belt which is going strong after a few years! This is basically a 2-in-1 case. A well-built case for hand-held reading, and an ingenious "stand" type case and for a very reasonable price (< $15). I highly recommend it. Don't bother with other cases which opens sideways when the mother of all cases (i.e. this one) exists!
