Hand-crafted folded chess board made on wooden base with inlaid marble squares. Hand carved Indian stone chess set. Chess board is around 10" x 10" square and king is almost 2" high and other pieces in proportion to the king. The main colours of stone used on this chess set are white and dark grey. Board is also decorated with wood inlays. Pawns are of black coloured natural stone and brown natural stone. All pieces are hand carved. Chess set itself is having storage for all of it 32 pawns and is laced with satin feel cloth. As it can be seen in picture, main box is wooden and wooden inlays have been placed on top of the wooden box. Wooden box also works as storage to keep the pawns. Note: slight variation in the photograph and the actual cannot be avoided because each item is made individually.

Arrived damaged, otherwise nice.
This is a beautiful set. Pieces are a nice weight and the entire set is a goos size. Unfortunately there is a fluffy purple fabric inside the box that stores the pieces. It seems that the pieces were put into the box before they were dry, and the pieces were stuck to the fabric when they arrived. When we pulled them lose, they still had a significant amount of fuzz left stuck to the piece. Even after soaking and cleaning each piece, some of the pieces still have a permanent purple stain from the dye.The set is still nice, but there's no excuse to make the consumer clean the entire set upon delivery and still be left with a damaged item.

The pieces are beautiful and the board look impressive
For the price, I cannot complain. The pieces are beautiful and the board look impressive. However, it is very cheaply made, and two pieces were broken on arrival. They quickly sent me an entire new set of pieces, so I guess that's good.As beautiful as the set is on the outside, the inside it horrid, with stuffing and foam sticking out underneath the purple velvet. If no one is seeing the inside (like in my case), this set is great!Overall, because of the price and fast customer service, I am satisfied

Nice set
The pieces are not carved as one piece, the bases are glued on. We had one pop off after a few weeks of use, but I just super glued it back on and haven't had any problems since. I didn't look at the picture closely enough to see that the colors of the squares don't match the pieces ( the black squares are a reddish color rather than black like the pieces) but that's just me being picky. Got this as a fathers day gift for my husband and he loves it. (UPDATE) We have had the set for over a month now and the bases keep popping off the pieces but we just superglue them back on and they haven't come back off, still recommending this product.

This is more like it
Much better than the 10 by 10 inch version I originally purchased and returned. Pieces are very detailed and large enough to easily identify. Board and pieces have a nice solid feel to them. Felt on the bottom of the chessmen would be a nice addition but I can always add that detail myself later. If you're a chess aficionado or are looking for a nice end or coffee table display, this is a great option.

Great chess set.
Solid pieces, really nice sized board to play on.Only con is pieces are very loose in the holding box, so if you move the chess set around too much they'll shift.

Cheap construction
The pieces are great but the case is poorly constructed. The stone top is pulling away from the wood. The clasps are of poor construction. It is very hard to open and close them. And when it was shipped it had a piece of newspaper around it and one piece of bubble wrap.

Great chess set
Great chess set. The pieces are beautiful and everything is nice, but the board was cheaply made on the inside where the phelt was and the pieces although did look extravagant, they lacked profession. Good price what what you get I just wish I would have bought one a little more expensive to have a little more attention to detail.

Really nice board and pieces
Really nice board and pieces, arrived with no damage at all. Only note I would make - the dark squares are a lighter shade than what they look in the picture. Still very happy!
