I measured on the high end of medium, so I ordered a large size and it fits well. There is an adjustment strap on the inside back of the sweatband which would let you make the fit a little smaller. It came with a minor but noticeable crease to the crown so it may not come out of a suitcase in the same shape you pack it. I haven't used it in traveling yet.
