The Class Returns
Like the other reviewers, I loved Doo Wop 50 and snapped this concert up when it became available. I loved this concert also, but didn't feel that the sets and production quality were up to the first concert set. Still great, just not as great. I thought some of the camera manipulation was hokey and unnecessary. With performances like these, they can stand on their own without any technical finesse. However, this is no reflection on the performers or their work. Like the prior concert, there is an overwhelming feeling of warmth and loving respect between this audience and the entertainers. I've never been to an 'oldies' concert, but if the atmosphere on these DVD's is typical, I can see why so many of these long-forgotten performers have made a new career of touring.I have noticed that almost without exception, the performers endeavor to duplicate their recordings, rather than treading new ground. I appreciate this, as I've listened to those recordings for decades and those are the versions I want to hear! For me, the high point of this DVD was the performance of 'Little Darlin' with both the Diamonds and Maurice Williams. Truly, though, all of the performers give it their best and that's very good indeed. Mel Carter's "Hold Me..." is as dynamic as on his original recording, and the reunion of the Tokens is a treasure. This is feel-good music of the highest order; I've shown this DVD to many who aren't necessarily fans of 'doo-wop' on the radio and they've left very impressed. The depth of feeling, the obvious love the performance and audience have for this music, permeates every minute of these performances.I'm so glad someone made the effort to bring these performers together, as each year takes more of them from us. Through the magic of recording, people will be able to learn, to enjoy, and to appreciate this specialized genre of music long after all of us are gone.

Memories
Here we see a limited amount of Jerry Butler but a whole world of memories renewed as various artists make you forget your age and remember the fun and joy music gives you. If you haven't seen this or any of the series produced under the TJL banner I hope you look for them on Amazon and do as I did grabbing a bit of memories to keep for all time.

Great songs.
I love music of all kinds. DooWop groups are the best at harmony. I love the blending of the different voices, the fact that I can understand all the words and the fact that every single person in the groups participates. There is no "help" from voice changers. Every single member can sing. And do it beautifully. These groups were the start of the "boy bands" that people make fun of. There is nothing funny about great music and beautiful voices blending together. I often listen to this 3 or 4 times a day.

GREAT!!
I loved the Doo Wop sound when a teenager, and I still love that sound as a senior citizen. I didn't think many of these groups were still around, but to my surprise T.J. Lubinsky was able to get many of the early groups back together for this amazing video. And, guess what? They sounded GREAT! If you like the Doo Wop sound, you can't afford to be without this collection of the pioneers of that sound. Thank you T.J. Lubinsky!

Great Concert... but audio somewhat lacking.
I actually give the concert 5 Stars. I hold back on the five stars because the audio on the DVD was not quite up to the standards when it aired on PBS. Other than that, I loved this DVD!

good show
this show was good. had some good artists in it. at times the audio was a bit fuzzy, but otherwise it was OK. I could tell there was some changes in the artists, but still close.

Doo Wop Satisfaction
The item, Doo Wop 51, vol. 1 & 2, was received in very good condition and on time as promised. It was partially viewed and found to be quite a show. Very happy to be able to add this item to my video library collection. One cannot go wrong with good ole Jerry Butler and the boys of the good old days.
