Field Sport products get relatively good ratings here and the construction seems well-done
[This is a Field Sport brand product, Chinese made. Field Sport products get relatively good ratings here and the construction seems well-done! See Field Sport products here on Amazon]I had previously bought a Field Sport micro-dot sight (bolt-on only, without riser, controls on the RIGHT), which is great for my 12-ga shotgun; mounts right on my Tri-Star Cobra's picatinny rail without any riser. But I was interested in the same quality sight to mount on my AR platforms with minimal work, so I picked up one of these "MGS" sights.I decided on this model because it has the built-in riser, controls on the LEFT (you can use them without taking your hand off the pistol grip). and quick disconnect as I want to swap this between two 8.5" barrel (.223/5.56 and 300BLK) uppers on my Palmetto State Armory pistol lower. I mounted this in the T12 slot on the upper receiver and it's a nice comfy distance away from the buffer tube. The built-in riser (as delivered) co-witnesses relatively well with stock-height AR post sights and flip-sights / allows a good view above the irons to acquire targets. Also, these micro-dots are the PERFECT size for AR pistols. Compares similarly to the Bushnell TRS and Primary Arms sights, but is likely of lesser quality. Maybe someone has done a cross-comparison video on YouTube, or writeup on AR15.com so please search around if you're really curious! Some people have complained about the components coming loose or losing zero, but you get what you pay for. I personally use MOE grips and grip plugs, so I always keep allen wrenches tucked away if I need them. If you don't mind some fine adjustments and such for the price, pull the trigger on this!I've mainly left this rating to help get this up to 4.0 stars. It deserves high marks for the price.

Its such a good deal i am ordering more.
I ordered this for a project AR I'm building, and was more attracted by the low price than anything. I was happy with the build quality, and the lights work well. I did find there is some impact shift at 100 yards when switching between the red and green dots (about 5 inches) but I decided to just sight it in for one color and only use that color. The adjustments have a positive "click" and it is nicely made overall. The QD mount lever seems like cheap pot metal, not top quality steel like American ones, but for the price, it works great. I have put 300 rounds through my AR with it on, and the only thing negative that happened was the 4 screws holding the scope to the base loosened up. I took them off and added Locktite, and haven't had a problem since. I'm using a .223 round in the pictires for size comparison. Bottom line?????? Get it! I am actually ordering another one this week.

Solid unit!!
After reading reviews , I was finally convinced to go ahead and make purchase. Shipping was fast and red dot was shipped in a good protective box. Opening box I found instructions cleaning cloth and battery and red dot all in great condition. I inspected the red dot and it was free of any scratches to body or lenses. I was impressed with the riser and quick detach. Now to mount the red dot tightly to rail I did need a little socket to tighten the little nut on side after attaching it to rail, but no big deal. If you have a socket set and a hand its a quick fix. On to the next installing battery easy, I turned to all brightness settings worked as it should a big difference between 1 and 11 as it should be. I wont say brightness but the actual size of red dot. I find 3 or 4 is large enough and still be precise out too 100 meters.I am not BS when at first just to test it all I did was set red dot just above my front sight post and was hitting man size targets out too 100 meters with ease. After finely tuning target acquisition and accuracy is dead on. I have fired 1500 rounds of 5.56 ammo with this optic and holds zero and has not loosened on rail with no lock tite used. If your on the fence about this red dot BUY IT!!! Yes there are more expensive red dot but why pay more when this thing gets the job done. Let the mall ninjas waste there money. I forgot to mention it is water proof at least in 2 foot of water. I dropped my whole rifle rig into muddy puddle to test durability of rifle and red dot. Its a winner, winner chicken dinner!

APPROPRIATE FOR TOY/AIRSOFT USE ONLY!!!
I don’t write reviews of products often, but I wanted to give an honest opinion of these. Now, I had browsed and read pretty much all of the reviews for these prior to purchasing, and was confident in my decision to buy multiple of these FOR AIRSOFT USE. I WOULD NOT under any circumstance, consider these appropriate for use on anything real. For airsoft, they appear to be worth the purchase price and I’m sure will stand up to that use only. The QD mount DOES NOT lock. I know there’s a locking button, and there’s a nice click when it’s engaged and “locks” into place, but the lever can easily be pulled open despite this. There is little to no difference in resistance with the button engaged, or shifted to unlock when loosening the pull lever. Before anyone says, “Well, you got a bad one.” I BOUGHT THREE. I needed a cheap red dot for three airsoft guns, and these appeared to fit the bill. The glass is also super reflective on both sides (objective moreso than that the eye piece), I have no doubt that these will reflect badly in bright sunlight or in rooms with bright lights on the user side. Again, appropriate for toys/airsoft, but not for any real use. I was impressed with the positive clicks when adjusting windage and elevation, and the R/G dot adjustment is also nice (not too hard, not too mushy, and with positive stops). Having two mounts is nice, and that was necessary for one of my setups, so that’s why these were chosen. The screws are cheap metal and the heads will strip at less than 15 in-lb of torque (ask me how I know).Again, for a toy or airsoft, go ahead and get these. They look the look and walk the walk for that purpose. They zero’d well and held up to rapid spring-powered fire. For anything rea, get a real, proven optic. Have fun out there.
