Betcha One Is Not Enough - You'll Eventually Want More.
I currently have sixteen (16) of these Plano Prolatch 3700 utility boxes, stuffed full with nails, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, and similar for my home woodworking shop. None have failed me yet, even with those surprisingly heavy loads. In fact, no sign to wear to even suggest they might fail anytime soon. When they first arrived, the latch on one box wasn't really tight enough to securely lock the lid. This was resolved by removing the latch (pops off with considerable force outwards), applying a little heat to soften the plastic, and increasing the curve in the latch. This decreased the space between upper area of the latch where it attaches to the lid and the lower area of the latch where it engages the lock tab on the box. The problem on this box has not returned, and all the other boxes also still lock securely. Each storage box comes with enough dividers to split the box into the maximum number of compartments listed in the product description. If you lose some of those dividers or need to divide the box even further, the company (Plano) will provide small quantities of extra dividers at no additional charge. See the FAQ's on their website for more details. Since these boxes have served me well for some months now, I just ordered another ten (10) to replace a worn out drawered cabinet holding my electronics parts collection (resisters, diodes, switches, knobs, wire connectors, etc). The customizable compartments virtually ensure those parts will fit inside well.

Plano 23700-02 Stowaway: cheap, sturdy, and weirdly useful for everything but fishing
I’ve been using the Plano 23700-02 Stowaway for about 8 months now. Bought it because I was tired of digging through ziplocs for hooks and swivels when I’m traveling. I live in Florida and I’m on the road a lot, so my gear gets tossed in backpacks, duffels, car trunks. It needs to hold up. Right off the bat, this thing is simple. It’s a clear plastic 3700-size box, 14" x 9.13" x 2", with 24 compartments you make yourself using the adjustable dividers. The whole sell is that you customize it, and honestly that’s the best part and the most annoying part. What I actually use it for I don’t even fish every trip. But this box lives in my go-bag now: Fishing stuff: I keep hooks in one, split shots and swivels in another, soft plastics in the bigger slots. The clear lid means I can see colors fast when I’m bank fishing and don’t want to unpack everything. Non-fishing stuff: When I’m home it’s my embroidery thread case. The bobbins slide right in and I can see every color. I’ve also used it for spare drill bits sorted by size, Hot Wheels for my nephew, and AA batteries for travel. Basically, if it’s small and loose, it ends up in a Plano. The good stuff Build quality is legit for the price. Latches are strong, hinges feel solid, and mine’s been dropped on hotel parking lots twice with no cracks. people called out “quality” with zero negatives. Actually stays closed. The latches snap hard and I haven’t had stuff migrate between compartments. That matters when it’s sliding around in a carry-on. Customizable layout. You can do big slots for plastics or tiny ones for seed beads. I run mine half-and-half: small terminals on one side, open space for buzzbaits on the other. Value for money. Most people say it’s cheap but effective. For under 10 bucks you get a box that doesn’t feel like it’ll snap if you look at it wrong. Made in USA if that matters to you. The annoying parts You have to cut the dividers yourself. They come on strips with little tabs. Scissors work, but you gotta trim each one flush or they don’t slide in smooth. Took me 15 minutes and it’s tedious. Not hard, just dumb that it isn’t pre-cut. No gasket. This model isn’t waterproof. If you need it to survive a kayak flip, buy the waterproof version with the blue gasket. I keep mine in a dry bag when I’m near saltwater. Size can be limiting. It’s only 2" deep. Big cranks and spinnerbaits with skirts get squished. Works better for terminals, finesse stuff, and crafts. Value for money? Yeah. I’ve paid more for boxes that cracked in 3 months. This one is $6-$10 depending on where you get it, and it just works. customers called out value with zero complaints. You’re not getting premium features like one-hand latches or rust-inhibitor lining, but for basic organization it’s hard to beat. Bottom line for me If you need a beater box that can handle travel, crafts, or random small parts, grab it. If you need waterproof or pre-cut dividers, spend a few bucks more on the upgraded models. I ended up buying 4 more for my garage. I’d give the Plano 23700-02 Stowaway 4 out of 5 stars. Knocked one star off because I’m still mad I had to play arts-and-crafts with the dividers. Otherwise, it’s the box I grab most.

Good for embroidery floss
I use this to store my embroidery threads on plastic bobbins. The bobbins fit into the compartments easily. I can see the colors through the case so I can find what I need quickly. This case was inexpensive and fits my needs. The compartment dividers come as a strip, and need to be cut apart for use. A utility knife worked best for this, as I needed to trim off the little connector tab that held them together. This is a little tedious, but necessary to get the dividers to slide into place correctly.

Cable Storage
Recently simplified my desk setup and ended up with a lot of extra cables just floating around in a drawer. Used this box to organize the cables and power boxes. I will caution that for this use case the box has a quickly reached capacity but helps to not keep more than what you'll actually needed. The adjustable inserts are great for separating by cable type (no labeling necessary).

Roomy, sturdy for lots of different "stuff"
Very sturdy, pretty large if you get this size I did. Was just what I was looking for, seems like it'll hold up just fine for light/moderate weight items. I have one - small - complaint (surprising too). The small dividers come attached in steps of 5(6?) BUT they are not easily separated. They have to be cut apart and the cut needs to be made close to each edge so that they slide in the slots properly. Like I said, it's a small issue but other similar boxes I've gotten had individual dividers that didn't need to be fiddled with like this. Surprising, not a biggie but... Hmmm. They clips lock securely. Anyway, it's a good box that you will find lots of uses for I'm sure!
