Great Pedal Regardless of Price

Don't be fooled by the price, this is a great pedal that I would put up against the best boutique multi-modulation effects. I have 2 on my board with different settings. The level, depth, rate settings make this easy to dial in great sounds in any of the modulation modes. I have fancy boutique phasers and auto-wahs (including an original Mu-Tron) and I get more compliments from the audience when I use this pedal. I have V1 and V2, my Version 1 Coral Mod has been through lots of gigs and abuse without breaking down. I highly recommend this pedal.

Great value for money, surprising product

Low noise, versatile product. It sits on my board among branded and pricy pedals and do its work with pride. I use it mostly for vibrato and flanger subtle effects. Thinking of buying another one. I also have an MXR Chorus. Great option for your board with low price.

Alive inside! Step right up to witness the amazing ten-in-one (plus eight)!

The media could not be loaded. TL;DR — Worth the money; tremolos and vibrato are standouts; desperately missing a Mix knobLet’s start by asking why: why would you want an a mod mini-pedal with 18 modes? There’s the portability and utility. But I posit the more substantive answer is that you, like your humble reviewer, is an explorer, an investigator into the recherché who’s driven to wonder if there may be, just may be, a setting on this or that box that is so markedly different that it will be like discovering a neon blue, five-foot-long, six-legged lizard deep within the Amazon’s catastrophically shrinking interior. This is what nagged me into snagging a Coral Mod II.Does it deliver? Are new wonders to be uncovered here? Well, while I can’t say there are giant blue lizards, there is a menagerie of handsome snakes and crocs — and a few unavoidable skinks. And that bears noting: while I liken undesirable sounds to skinks, there are undoubtedly those who will find those little guys the cutest of the lot. And that’s great! We need more variety, and tools to encourage the creation of variety.Speaking of variety, I have to applaud Valeton for aiming to create a mod box with more that just simple “Flanger” and “Phaser” settings. Those are here, to be sure, but we also get attempts to replicate vintage tube amp bias tremolo, Roland-style chorus and a flippin’ Univibe. Do they hit their intended marks? Not really, but I think the intention was earnest, and it’s worth commending. What do I like the most? Gotta be the Detune, an effect I go to more and more. It’s like a chorus in an invisibility cloak. The Trems and Vibrato are also very musical, the Phasers are pleasant if definitely pronounced, and the Flanger is a buzzsaw that, when combined with your favorite distortion, is a super fun time.Speaking of which, check the video for samples. Simple phrases from a looper going into a DAW. Nothing added, subtracted or adjusted — with the exception of the last ~30 seconds in which I add a bit of distortion. (Sound quality is admittedly less than optimal, but you use what you got, y'know?)What would really make this a five-star affair? Easy: a Mix knob. If you could blend your dry and wet signals to taste, half of the modes would go from an “OK” to a “Yeah!” in no time. I’m no electrical engineer, but such a knob couldn’t be that hard to add, right? Some final notes:— Confirmed: the labels are tiny and not lighted, so there’s next to no way this would be a good idea for a gigging rig if you’re planning on making any adjustments on the fly.— When you are switching between modes, you’ll note some level changes that will most likely require you to make adjustments the Level knob to regain your desired position.— The Tap Tempo! It works great and is a nice addition.Book your own rainforest adventure and see what you discover!

Disappointed

Dialing effects seems to do little. Tones seem to muddy up. Just disappointing.

some very good sounds here

12 O'clock high is a great lead when adjusted right and it has other cool sounds.

Dissatisfied, and the first Coral Mod had better sound quality and effect choices

Guitar tone negatively affected / colored compared to original Coral Mod when comparing the tremolo effects, at least. Also the O-Trem & B-Trem are labeled opposite. Also, the labeling of the effects is so dim, tiny, and lacking color contrast that you could NEVER see this on stage if you have to.Also, they changed some of the 16 effect choices. They got rid of the versatile "echo" and replaced it with a fixed short echo combined with tremolo effect; therefore it no longer has a proper delay effect (i.e. the "echo" with full delay controls). I didn't bother checking the other effects. Had to return this.I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because they improved it only by adding a tap function, but the tap has no subdivision so you have to inaccurately try to tap your foot to 16th notes to try and time a tremolo effect. Good luck with that. Wish I had good things to say.

Effective!

Just as I expected. Rare these days. If you're looking to buy a low cost versatile mod pedal then look no further. I bought this for the tremolo and now use almost every effect on it! Configure this pedal to your own personal taste and stomp away! You won't be dissapointed.

Lots of effects in a matchbox size pedal

This little pedal has a lot going for it. I recently downsized my gear due to space issues. This mod pedal replaced like 5 of my regular size pedals...chorus, phase, flanger, trem, vibe. The sounds are pretty much what I was getting from 5 pedals costing $100.00 each or more. Not a bad deal for under $100.00. I just recieved it so I'm hoping it lasts because through my experience you only get what you pay for. Depth and rate dials work well in adjusting the effects. So far I'm quite happy...🤘🤘🤘

My new favourite mini pedal. Read why

Honestly I could not see that coming when I ordered this pedal. I'm a sucker for pedals, especially mini and recently I discovered valeton. I have not yet bought a mediocre product, especially for the price, from them.Packaging and build quality:The packaging is simple and quite standard. Simple cardboard with instructions and some protective foam. Nothing fancy, although the instructions are very clear and I really like the layout( look photo 4). The pedal itself seems very durable, a bit on the heavy side for a mini pedal, with nice responsive knobs and a bright led.Effects and sound quality: That's where the pedal really shines. It might be tiny but it offers 16 really high quality effects. Generally I'm not a huge fan of digital, especially in modulations, but building a mini pedalboard I found the multi modulation I had from Mooer to be quite unsatisfactory and thin sounding. It includes all the classics you'd expect such as chorus, tremolo ,flanger, phaser and vibrato, but also has some lovely quirky ones like the lo-fi and the detune which are really fun and enjoyable to mess with. The effects are based on well known classics such as the mxr phase 90 (which tbe valeton mimics REALLY well) and while it's digital doesn't sound harsh, thin, poor in definition(except in lo-fi which purposedly does that) like many other pedals. The chorus was almost as lush and round as my mxr black label chorus , which is analog bucket brigade and costs twice as much. Also very surprising is the fact that all valeton pedals have very low noise floor( if you ever stacked many pedals especially with a cheap power supply you know how important it is) and there's no tone sucking (even though I've got five from the same series at the moment on my second rig). The volume, depth and rate controls are very responsive offering even more tonal capabilities, while surprisingly enough they managed to cram into this tiny thing a tap tempo( just hold the footswitch pressed and the tap tempo is activated) which to me is very important. My overall impression couldn't have been better and if you ,like me don't use modulations all the time but want a great variety, this one for half the price of a boss pedal is a true steal.

awesome little pedal for the price

great value pedal, lots of things to choose from, you can even foot tap the tempo for time reference. All the effects are differentiated enough that you can find various good sounds out of them. The pots are not clear and easy to use, but it is the type of effect you are supposed to set up once so that's fine. I really like it.

Kam defekt an
