We have had several Frigoverre glass containers over the past few years, and they have worked so well that we are ready to replace our plastic ware with more of these Italian-made containers.[We routinely use the Frigoverre containers in the refrigerator and microwave, but we have never used them in the freezer. I love the way the glass cleans in the dishwasher, but just to be careful, I've always handwashed the flexible lids. They have held up beautifully. The glass units stack well together, but I have a separate basket to hold the lids.]It was a bit confusing to look through Amazon at the container sizes that are available now - some are described in ounces, some in cups, some in inches, etc. So I ordered one of the sets of three rectangular containers  Bormioli Rocco 3.90210.SE1021990 Frigoverre Glass Food-Storage Compact Containers with Lids, Set of 3  to check it out. The small container is just right for a bit of left-over fruit or jam or sauce - or for minced herbs or green onions; the medium sized container fits a half onion with plenty of room; the largest holds a good amount of left-over casserole or vegetable for two of us.The quality seems to be as high as the containers we ordered years ago, and these sizes work just fine for our empty nest (2 of us left at home now).We have two more sets coming tomorrow.

I didn't know how to rate this product, either 1- star or 5-stars.It gets one star for grossly being incorrectly described. Instead of 7-1/2-ounce, 17-ounce, and 47-ounce sizes the containers hold 5-ounce, 8-ounce and 40-ounces. Specifically 3x3-3/4 inches, 4x4 inches and 4-7/8x8 inches are the dimensions indicated on the product's label.Fortunately these smaller sizes are probably more useful to us than the advertised sizes so that gives them a 5-star rating.Technically they are great freezer or refrigerator containers, not to be used in the oven or stovetop and I'd probably refrain from using them in a microwave just to be safe as they are marked to limit the temperature to 158-degrees F.

I researched a couple of brands of glass containers and I'm really happy that I went with Bormioli. My food stays fresh, the containers are attractive (I sometimes use the largest one as a serving dish without the lid) and good quality. These are great shapes, and they nest which is convenient for storage. I don't have a microwave, so no commentary there. The plastic lids are easy to press into place and to remove, and they don't generally absorb food odors. My husband did leave the smallest container in the fridge for several weeks with chopped onion, and that did smell like onions -- I just soaked the lid in warm soapy water and viola, odor gone.

The kids cracked within a short while, and I haven’t received responses to my inquiries of the company.

I'm in the process of replacing all my plastic food storage containers with glass. I prefer the Bormioli with translucent lids to the Pyrex with blue lids. I like these square/rectangular shapes - easier to store in the refrigerator or freezer. Excellent product!
