We will attach a strap of elastic so it doesn't slip down. When the strap is not in use, just tuck it under to hide it away. This costume is designed to get wet - let her wear it in the bathtub or kiddie pool to play, as well as for adorable pictures! This tail does restrict movement, so children who wear it must be supervised even in shallow water. It is not meant for swimming or use in chlorinated water or on rough surfaces, as it damages the fabric. However, it's far more comfortable for long wear than the "swimmable" commercial costumes with swim fins in the tails. Hand-wash the mermaid tail and hang it to dry for the longest life of the costume. It dries best when hung with the tail end up and a sheet of plastic pressed into the foot pocket; this prevents the foam from sticking together while letting the spandex dry evenly.
