This umbrella has a large canopy, seems to be made of high quality materials and is very attractive. But this is mostly negated by how difficult it is to operate. I'm a full-grown man (who lifts weights 4 times per week) and I cannot begin to push the button to open this umbrella with one thumb. I have to set down whatever else I have in my hands and press with both thumbs as hard as I can to get this thing to open. At that point, it springs open nicely. Same with trying to close it. While the canopy folds with the push of a button (and this CAN be done with one thumb), the spring that keeps the center post extended is so strong that I need both hands and the handle of the umbrella propped against my thigh to close it. It's just ridiculously difficult to operate while carrying anything. To me, an important feature of an automatic umbrella is to be convenient to use while carrying other stuff. If all I had to carry was this umbrella, I wouldn't mind so much.

This is a stylish umbrella at an unbeatable price. I did quite a bit of online research and at first I bought a much more expensive umbrella (now returned) only to find out after I received that it was too small. This one has a 40" diameter, an excellent size, not frequently found with compact travel umbrellas. The size and wait are just right if you plan to carry it with you on a backpack side pocket. The open and close mechanism is quite snappy, and the shaped handle makes it comfortable to hold especially in windy conditions. My wife liked it also, so I have now ordered a second one for her!

I bought this for my two year old son. I didn't want to get him a toddler umbrella because I didn't want to keep buying them. I wanted something that will last. It is huge and he nor his favorite stuffed animal will get under this umbrella. He is not strong enough to press the button, but it does work automatically both up and down. I like that when it's closed it's not extremely big. It also has a strap. I hope that it holds up as I haven't used it yet. I love the white stripe that makes it different from other styles. I'll know which is his.

I bought this umbrella because I was tired of umbrella’s turning inside out and breaking in high winds and this one said it was wind proof. Well, I’ve used it when it was raining, sleeting, snowing and really WINDY and it did turn inside out on me a few times, but the good news is it didn’t damage the frame or canvas and still works great.

The handle and shaft are very sturdy. The ribs are angle reinforced and seem to open and close smoothly. The automatic open and close features are great. For the money, this umbrella seems to be excellent. The light colored trim around the edge adds just enough to make it a little different than your basic black umbrella.

Nice umbrella, the surface causes water to bead up and fall off so it dries quickly. Not perfect as water still holds onto the umbrella of course but it's better than other umbrellas that are not treated with a hydrophobic coating. It feels sturdy and has held up in the wind so far...

Love this umbrella! Love that it opens and retracts with a button. The handle is comfortable in your hand and the material of the umbrella is thicker than most. The black with cream trim is a nice change from just the plain ol' black ones. This isn't a pocket umbrella in case you were looking for one that tucks in your purse or briefcase. But, it's also not big like a golf umbrella.
