A whopping 60 tracks recorded for RCA Victor and Coral most of which are debuting on CD for the first time. Included are several major hits: "The Man With The Banjo", "My Bonnie Lassie" and one of the most popular songs of 1949 "Far Away Places". This scintillating new CD set is a timely follow up to Jasmine's very successful first Ames Brothers release (JASCD408 - They, They, They Are The Ones). 60 tracks across a 2CD set with informative liner notes in the booklet.

It's okay, but would like songs I'm more familiar with.
I only listened to this recording once, and while their voices go together and harmonize well, there are a lot of songs that I'm really not familiar with. In truth, I really prefer the solo recordings by Ed Ames.

Mellow music men
Ah, to go back to when melodies and words were understandable and soothing. That is what you have when you listen to the Ames Brothers. Ed's fantastic voice comes through and makes you wish they were still singing together. This is a great CD to unwind your day.

All 4 brothers
What a great trip down memory lane! I was able to see the Ames Brothers in person (3 of them) way back when. There were only three then because Ed became Daniel Boone's Indian side kick. Remember the hatchet toss on Johnny Carson? Alway loved their harmony.
