Not the pictured item.
I looked long and hard to find the older model of the Kun shoulder rest with the real rubber feet made from rubber hosing. I have read reviews of the plastic-rubber hybrid that Kun switched to some time ago and wanted to avoid the problems they mentioned (and now that I have seen it up close I can understand - this stuff just isn't that grippy). So, as I just mentioned, the shoulder rest I received is the newer plastic-footed kind. I sent a complaint about this through Amazon's feedback system and the seller told me that the photo is selected by Amazon.com or something. They said "the picture is pulled from an Amazon image previously loaded by another vendor and is NOT our picture."Even though this is Amazon's fault, apparently, Amazon.com customer service says this is the proper venue for complaints, so here I am, & still looking for an older style shoulder rest. (I guess this is also a general disappointment in Kun as a company, too.)

I prefer the collapsible Kun
I hadn't played for quite a while, and needed a shoulder rest. This was the model I found, and knew I had liked my old Kun.This one's different in that the legs do not collapse and the angle of the rest to the legs is floating. Yes, I knew this when I bought it. I just underestimated the importance of these things for meNon-collapsible legs make it difficult to stow. The floating nature of the angle means it moves a bit when you're playing. This makes noise and I find it disconcerting.Overall, the quality is good and the rest is comfortable. For me, the movement that happens with the rest is not desirable.

Got this for my 15 years old daughter. We read many reviews and decided to try this product. There is a part which keeps moving and doesn't stay securely. My daughter stoped using after few days because she was not able to hold her violin with this shoulder rest. It was waste of money. Did we just get defective one?

No more scratches on violin edges!
Other rests seem to leave little scratch marks from removal, but not this rest. The unique screw and extend design makes this a safe way to protect the wood of your instrument while providing an ergonomic and comfortable support. Just remember to tighten the screw after removing the rest for storage; it may fall out otherwise. As an aside, others have reported the feet breaking off... I believe the unique design of this rest prevents excessive stress on the feet. No sign of weakness yet.

You may have to do a bit more research to properly fit it to your violin and yourself.
I like the silicon feet and the shape of the contour.Only con; not enough instructions to properly customize and fit. YouTube and YouTubers; “Twoset violin” helped with figuring this out. THANKS!

Decent product for decent price!
First of all, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't fold-able, like most Kuns; however, it did not state that it did- thus, I got 100% what I paid for. It was a prettier dark color than most Kuns (that look old and worn out after a short period of time); this one did not. Also, this one had a PLUS side where it did not fall of easily like the most common (40-60 dollar range ones) Kuns. This one is definitely RECOMMENDED for all players; and the curve fits very well; my shoulder type and neck length usually cause my previous shoulder rests to droop my violin, unlike this one. Enjoy! (I rated this a 4.5 not 4)

A bit slippy
It would be nice if the black hinges are more tight.
