A helpful guide for non-designers
Good explanation of the basics of design and points out the rookie mistakes that make materials look amateurish. Some of the design "advice" is a bit outdated, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Only delivered halfway
I teach interpretation and was excited when I saw the title of this book, but was disappointed after I got it. The first couple of chapters are a good intro to how design and interpretation intersect, the part I wanted. The middle half of the book consists of design and color basics better gotten from an intro to design book and technical information about printing process and materials that quickly becomes dated. Much of the book draws from National Park Service examples, materials, and workflows that will untypical in most settings.

Good
I'm interested in projects with high educational content. A book like this guide a designer to understand more the impact of a visual material, because the main gold is comunicate the relevance of a site or place in a very ludic way, and ultimately educate people in a very positive way

Excellent Resource
As a historical interpreter, I create materials for tours. I am not a graphic artist or designer. This book makes it easier for those of us who need to know the basics of good interpretive design. I highly recommend it.
