Yep this worked on a GTI grab handle
I tried the double screwdriver method and couldn't do it. Bought this tool and at first couldn't get it to work, but then I slid it in place and tapped it with the heel of my hand to push it a little deeper. Bingo.

I have a mk7 GTI and spent maybe an hour trying to use two screwdrivers to fail at what this thing let me do in a minute. I don't know about you, but that is well worth the 20 bucks just for one handle alone.
