Chia Pet Classic Hedgehog Terracotta Planter with Seed Pack

Great gift, grew well.

It was a gift for my granddaughter, who is 13. Directions are easy to understand.

To be honest I don’t remember buying this but I like it. I probably bought it as a gift

Taking care of Mia the chia & watching her progress every day has given me more joy than it should. I took a lot of the tips from the reviews I’ve read to optimize her full bushy hair! I did use less water to seeds to create a decently thick paste and it didn’t have any issues sliding off the clay mold. I topped off the water 4-5 times daily, emptied the water tray daily, misted her several times daily, and made sure to give her ample sunlight by an open window. Whenever topping her off, I’d make sure to dab off excess water from the top to avoid mold growth. I knocked off a star because day 10-11 I noticed it started to leak water faster? I would top off the water as normal and check back an hour later but the tray would already be filled with water when it used to take a whole day for the tray to fill. Not sure if this is just normal after the chia plant has reached full growth or not but either way it’s been a really fun 2 weeks with Mia! I’d recommend this plant for kids and adults! Fast growth and a fun experience for everyone

Make sure to use the tray or other dish that will hold the water that seeps from the Chia Pet.

This Chia Pet is cute. The body is made of terracotta, so it needs to be treated gently so it will not break. The chia seeds sprouted, however they did not fully cover the terracotta as in the pictures.

This was a super fun gift for someone who loves hedgehogs. It is not super large but not super small. The planter is a nice terra-cotta and does well to get plat the right amount of water.

So far I have had a blast watching my hedgehog sprout roots all over its self. Getting the seeds to stick was a little tricky but I figured the instructions had me use too much water. It also helps if your figure is more on the dryer side so seeds stick to it like glue. I let it sit for about 24 hours with out water so the seeds stuck to the terracotta the best they could. Then I filled it with water and sprayed the seeds with some water. I have been topping it up with water every day. I keep it by the window to encourage the seeds to sprout leaves faster. The very top ones seem to not get enough water due to the poor design so you have to give them water manually daily until their roots extend further down.

My wife loves it as its an easy cute little addition to the plant shelf we have.

Got this as gift for my bf to remind him of the advertisement he used to see as a lil kid. We talked about it several times and I thought of surprising him with it. Not disappointed at all, he loved it. It's a great reminder of his childhood and can also be used to grow fresh cress.

Ordered the hedgehog and got it 🙂
