Excellent safe ~ with a single MAJOR/FATAL FLAW
Guys, let me just start with the positives:ValueBeautyOverall good qualityPlenty of roomBuilt in pockets in doorNow the reason I felt compelled to send it back, it's one MAJOR & FATAL flaw:The electronic combination... Both the poor design and cheap quality materials of said combination.Unfortunately, this is a huge problem and It's a definite showstopper. This is the equivalent to Sig Sauer placing cheap magazines that cause FTF in a $1,000 1911 Nightmare pistol (which they do). The difference being I can buy Wilson Combat or Chip McCormick mags & use them...This electronic combination is so cheap and the design is so bad that anyone that knew what they were doing coukd VERY EASILY gain access.Unlike many battery powered electronic combinations which have the power source stored INSIDE the safe, Blue Dot chose to utilize a design that involves one 9V battery located inside the keypad...and it gets worse. The keypad itself can very easily be removed and the wires leading into the safe mechanism are right there and accessible. No tools necessary. I'm no thief, but I imagine all you'd have to do is remove the battery and or jump the wires and it would reset to factory default password 1 2 3 4 5 6. Boom! Its open and your firearms and valuables are gone. Why they woukd choose to out such a POS combo in such a beautiful and well made safe is beyond me...to save a few bucks?? Seriously? I paid $1,000 for this safe (its now about $1100) and would GLADLY paid another $100 or even $200 for a better lock set up.Very disappointed. Someone in their leadership that made this decision should be taken out back waterboarded and/or fired ~ BOTH? :). If not for this one issue, this would be a 5 star review, hands down.

The safe itself works fine and is a convenient size to fit into a closet without major remodeling. However it was shipped by a freight company who would only put it in my garage. So it cost an additional $350 to get it put in the home in my location which was up stairs about 5 total. After that then I am very happy to have it, but it sat in my garage for a week during snow and that was a bummer.

The safe is nice quality. Mine was delivered without issue and it was brought in my house to the room I wanted with no hassle. This was on a first floor and about 20feet from the entry door.I paid $950 for the safe and I feel 1 hour at 1700 degrees is a great deal. Also having four way locking is huge step up from other safes in the price point. The description for this safe is wrong. It has four not two mounting point on the bottom of the safe, and four lag bolts are included. The safe also have a hole on the back bottom right where you can drill through the foam and add power inside the safe (hole through metal was already drilled). Unlike the other review my safe came with instructions. After reading the last review I was hesitant with the lock. The stock lock is nowhere as cheap feeling as the last review. It’s electronic so there’s no real reason to have a ton of weight to it. One thing I did do was tighten the screws that hold it to the safe a bit to make it feel more solid as it was holding tighter to the safe. With that said I did order a new lock because I wanted a screen and the ability to add several different user codes. I had to take the door pockets off to replace the keypad and I don’t believe this system is easy to crack as implied by the previous review. The lock and keypad are synced together and have to be connect and reset in a certain combination for them to sync up. This has to be done with the safe open and you have to remove the lock inside the door to do it. I believe digital locks are the future, and will do nothing but make you use your safe more often. If you are concerned with EMP’s there are dual combo locks that have keypads and combination dial as a backup that can be purchased for this safe. The safe is heavy, but can be moved by one person with a moving dolly pretty easy. Mounting to the floor is crucial.I also worked with Blue Dot Safes directly to order an upgraded lock. They were very helpful, and responsive to my questions. They got me the lock I wanted shipped out same day and delivered before my safe arrived. All in all I would highly recommend this safe. It is my first safe but I’ve don’t tons of reading and reviews on all safes and I feel this is the best bang for your buck. Order one and you won’t be disappointed. The only reason I didn’t go the bigger model was size. This unit could fit where I wanted perfectly.

Missing the locking mechanism
For some reason - we have no hardware to attach as the three spoke entry and no way to open the safe - it arrived with nothing - what the heck are we supposed to do with this?

this is a fantastic safe. Built well and functions flawlessly
Just received my safe today; this is a fantastic safe. Built well and functions flawlessly. I was hesitant about buying through Amazon but the delivery process was smooth and they even brought the safe in for me. If you buy a safe of this size in a big box store the delivery cost is 300$+.
