Oster ShedMonster De-Shedding Tool for Cats

This took works great on removing the undercoat hair that just gets everywhere. The cat likes it but he thinks it's a game so the claws are out. It works well tho. Recommend it.

I've used this brush for years. I got 2 8-week old kittens 7 years ago, one short hair and one long hair. (Sisters. Littermates). I used this brush on both of them. This is the only brush my short haired cat would let me use on her. This brush didnt scratch her skin or irritate her. It kept my long haired cat's coat looking silky and gorgeous. After I had to put her down a couple months ago, I adopted a long haired, 3 month old kitten. I've been using this brush on him for the last 2 month since I got him and it has worked wonders on him as well. Its kept his silky kitten fur silky and shiny and beautiful.I dont have anything bad to say about this brush at all. It brushes their undercoat very well. I pulled an entire kitten's worth of fur off of both of them today, and still have more brushing to do. Its so easy, so lightweight, and so gentle on their skin. Its a lot like a furminator without the price of a furminator. Its been 7 years and counting since I started using this brush and I can honestly say its the only one I will ever use. It works on long coats, medium coats and short coats alike. I'd give it 10/10 if I could. Honestly. Its the best purchase you could make for your cat.

Yes I tried it with the headline get it feeling... feline... I had to go for it... Okay I love a good cat word replacement, but this de-shedding tool is now a new love amongst my 15 babies this includes my ferals and all vary in fur length and diameter, and its definitely doing the job on all. Easy to use, gentle on thick areas, cleaning and sanitizing is a breeze, and the teeth of the comb feel solid. I have used other "brushes" but since this falls under a tool with a purpose of de-shedding I am pleased with how it performs. It's gentle enough that my kitties show me their bellies for a few strokes and get over into full relaxation mode. Overall I would say this is a good tool to add to your at home pet grooming arsenal. Oster is a brand that has been around for some time they make tools that focus on pets and when you have that in a company you know thought is put into development.

I have a long haired Maine coon. I've tried slickers and combs to keep her groomed. She just recently started to get used to the slicker, however, it doesn't remove enough hair. She hated the comb, so I thought I'd try this Shedmonster based on the reviews I've read here and some video I've seen online. It works very well and it doesn't pull her hair like the comb did. The only thing that I was surprised with was the size of the actual "teeth" on the shedmonster. It's only about an inch and a half wide. It does take out a better amount of hair, and I can use it for a longer period of time as compared to the comb. I do recommend this product

I brush my 10 year old indoor medium hair female Calico cat several times a day so I really do not have a lot of problems with cat hair on the furniture. Once in a while my cat has hairball issues and this is the main reason for purchasing the ShedMonster De-Shedding tool. Compared to the Furminator, this tool is more gentle on the cat's skin. It does not pull or damage the healthy fur and does not cause painful brush burns and skin irritation. It glides easily through healthy fur and removes the cat's matted or tangled undercoat. The tool is made of heavy duty plastic. The De-Shedding comb or teeth is stainless steel and can penetrate deep into the coat. There are two sets of teeth, one with smooth round edges and the other with slightly sharper edges. I tested this tool on my own skin first to determine where the sharp edges were and found it to be very gentle on the skin. This tool is built to last a long time and can easily be washed after each use. Following are some tips for using this tool:1. Inspect your cat's skin to ensure there are no sores, cuts or scratches prior to using this tool.2. When brushing through the coat, use long gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth. Note that ONLY the smooth rounded edges of this tool should contact your cat's skin.3. Pull slowly through the tangled hair or matted area to lessen any potential skin irritation and make the experience more enjoyable for your cat. Keep in mind that repeated brushing in the same area may result in thinning of your cat hair.4. DO NOT use this tool around sensitive areas such as legs, paws, genital or ears as it may result in cuts and possibly infections.5. DO NOT use the ShedMonster excessively! Monitor your cat's hair shedding, consult with your vet and always err on the side of caution to prevent removing the cat's external coat.I would highly recommend this tool and emphasize proper usage and handling by following the above steps.

The material feels great and my cat has already been used to getting groomed with other products but they didn't take out as much hair as this one! Plus this one left her coat shiny and soft. She's a Norwegian forest cat so she had a lot of hair and this helped a lot! I'll definitely be buying more as gifts to my parents who have two cats and my friend who is new to having a cat! If you cat has a normal coat it will work pretty well for basic regular grooming purposes. But the blades at the hook of each tooth aren't quite sharp enough to effectively slice through mats as I'd hoped for (a continual problem with my cat). Ends up pulling too much which the cat obviously doesn't like much. If the blades were a little more sharp to allow it to cut though those snags it would be great. But it's not so 3 stars for my matted cat purposes. I'd give it 4 stars for overall general use beyond that.
