Works great for diagnosing ignition dynamically
This is a great tool. Resistance measurements for stators and CDIs only tell part of the story. Run the leads to the pickup and advance coils out of the stators during cranking and running to see if they're generating voltage. If they are move it to the output of the CDI to coil.I'll never go back to relying on a bench test. Great tool at a great price. Wish I would've known about this tool sooner!

The only tool to diagnose pulsing coil
I am a motorcycle and ATV mechanic and I needed one of these to diagnose a stator in a Honda ATV.It worked perfectly, showed me that the sensor (Pulsing coil) was defective. I replaced it for 17.00 and got my quad running again !These used to be very expensive, but now, these are within my reach financially.

It worked wonderfully but the connectors are a bit cheap.
I used this to diagnose an alternator/stator-combination-starter for a Honda Ruckus and found it sound, though I do wish the alligator clamps weren't so cheap. The connectors would misalign, constantly.

Worth every dollar!
Wish I bought one if these sooner, the price is right and it works awesome diagnosing putboard motor and ATV charging system and ignition system issues.

Required for some trouble shooting on small engines
There simply is no way to test some of the troubleshooting required steps on small engines without this tool. It's simple to use and hook up and easy to read.

Used this to sort ignition issues on my old Mercury 90hp.

User it to diagnose ignition on Johnson outboard. Why guess and/or buy unnecessary parts.

Good quality. However, had to return the item as the connectors doesn't fit regular multimeters
Didn't get to use it as the connectors doesn't fit in regular multimeter. However, it does seem to be built with quality products.
