Don't ruin your roll pins using standard flat face punches
I've been building a new rifle as well as having maintained and upgraded AR rifles for a while and typically used standard punches for removing and replacing roll pins with no trouble at all until not long ago I had a stubborn sight tower roll pin that wouldn't come out so I invested in this set, immediately upon removing these from the packaging it's very obvious the difference between these roll pin punches and standard flat face punches. The first thing you'll notice is the tip is rounded for better fit on the end of a hollow roll pin so these are designed very well and it took three taps on the pins that wouldn't come out before no matter how many times I hammered on it and how hard, but I used the proper sized roll pin punch and my soft head mallet and three taps and the roll pin that wouldn't come out before drifted straight out and I was done so don't risk damage to your firearm by using the wrong tool because even though the wrong tool works most of the time there will be one that will not come put until you have the proper tool for the job. This set is nicely made, easy to grip and you have plenty of punches to make sure you have the right size instead of one that's too small and the next up size is too big but with these you should have the right size for the right pin and there's even a nice slotted pouch that each punch fits perfectly in so even though the price is cheap, the quality of the tools and the pouch are very well made BC

Great specialty tools at a great price
These are an outstanding value for a set of roll pin punches. They are very durable and can be used for more than just roll pins. They are perfect for setting roll pins while building an ar-15 rifle. You must be sure that you use the proper size punch for the pin you are driving or they will spread the pin just like a center punch, but as long as you use the correct size you will find they work much better than a straight punch or a center punch. The smaller sizes are a little bit short when working in the area of the bolt catch and in some tight areas, but with a little care you can make them work without doing any damage to the finish of your weapon (or anything else you might use these on). If you build your own ar15 weapons systems or do any type of work where you need to drive roll pins into parts of your project I would recommend a set of these. The price is outstanding and so is the quality.

Pin Punches
These appear to be solid and work fine.......but, one word of caution. When I ordered these the end of the punches appeared to be flat.........They are not! These have a small rounded portion on the very tip of the business end of the punch. Which makes them work fine a roll pin that is slight sunk or, has an open center, in which the small node, will fit into.....to keep the punch from sliding when you strike it. I would not recommend using them for a pin, such as the tapered pins used in Gas Blocks.....ie., pins that protrude slight from the hole and are rounded. You can try, if you like, but, on a round protruding pin, the punch will fly off immediately and, if you hit that punch hard enough, it is very likely to put a pretty good ding/hole area adjacent to the pin you are trying to remove or replace. I have built up a kit of punches.........I have a set of these, a set of punches that have a flat tip and some other assorted punches. Some recommend "Not using" metal punches, but, rather plastic or brass.......what I found to be frustrating is that plastic, hit enough times or sometimes just hard........can crack and/or shatter and, the brass will inevitable bend or warp.......after so many heavy duty whacks (which are often required on pins to break them lose). I am always careful to place something over the pin or around the pin (use the punch to put a hole in thin cardboard or whatever)......then place the cardboard on the weapon so that only the pin shows and tape it so it won't move.......then you can use the punch, if you hold it secure......without too much fear of the punch flying off the pin and whacking your rifle........I'm sure there are other methods you could think of.........The bottom line, the metal punches are fine, if you use the right protection and, the right sized punch......and have whatever you are working on sitting on something that evening supports it. For example, to me, it was worth the $40 dollars to buy an engineered finalic (sp?) block.......for working on (changing, cleaning etc., the gas blocks on my AR's.....Like the punches I use that rarely, but, when I need them I have them........

Works well for AR build
I used these to build an AR. They work well and seem sturdy enough. I bever got a sense they would bend or break. The only issues i have are...first it would be very helpfull to included a starter tool in the set. Second is the thickness and abrasiveness of the handle. Unfortunately it nicked some bluing from the ar even being very careful and taping the area. Overall I'm still very satisfied with my purchase.

Get the right tool for the job! K.I.S.S.
Dont know why ive been using regular punches for years now, these things work perfectly for roll pins large or small. Haven't used them on any guns though, just on large agricultural equipment. Get the right tool for the job and save yourself the headache and painted fingers. Oh they do gal up a little when hit with intention but it's just cosmetic. They work better than expected especially for the price, well compared to mac or snap on. A++

Great Product
Not sure why some are saying these break. Unless youโre smashing with a hammer or torquing with a vise they work as intended. Quality product for what they are supposed to do. Overall happy.

Unfortunately, smallest one is still too big for what I needed. But they're strong (I did try forcing it through the metal hole), have a case, and think the price is decent. So seems worthy if the sizes are what you need.

It works well. Not sure why there are complaints about this product. I think I would rather the tool bend than snap, I certainly rather the tool gets damaged than my equipment, so it should be of a softer material. In any case, if you are TAPPING on the punch in line with the pin, it should not bend or break. If you have to hammer hard on it to get pins moving may I suggest you try some WD40 to loosen things up first, or even applying some heat to the outside. I like the bag but it could have been slightly larger so that the fold down portion is larger, so that when the bag is rolled up punches don't fall out.

The case and punches are good quality. Feels good in the hand and seems like do the job.
