Great for family entertainment
I bought this a few years ago and it’s still going and works great. I change the recording often to get a giggle out of my teen. The recording is pretty good for a small device and has just the right amount of time given to record something. It’s cheap fun and great for a family that enjoys humor.

Great for a laugh and more!
Surprisingly good quality, I programed it to say "If you use the toilet and cause the bathroom to stink, please spray the air freshener and wash your hands in the sink!

A fun little device, but could use better instructions.
The directions, printed inside the cardboard label (it folds out), are a bit confusing on this. It doesn't come with batteries, so the first thing you have to do is put some in. It uses standard AAA batteries, but there's a couple catches. First, opening the unit is tricky. You have to squeeze the ends together and then twist, the moving end a bit. There's a notch on that end and the unit will only open when that notch lines up with a pin inside. The unit will rotate in increments of 30 degrees, so if it doesn't open easily the first time, give it another 30 degree twist in the same direction. The second catch is that there are not battery direction indicators anywhere. You have to look down the battery compartment at the contacts. There's a spring on one side, and the battery that goes int hat side goes in negative end first. The other battery goes in positive end first. To record a message (or sound), you have to hold the button down. This is another thing that directions are not clear on. They say to press it to record up to 9 seconds, but they don't mention you have to hold the button down to record. You do. As soon as you let go, the recording stops. This is a bit larger than a standard roll, and protrudes visibly outside the TP tube, but it does fit standard holders. Playback isn't exceptionally loud, or clear, but then, for $10, you're not exactly getting a quality audio device. To hear your recording, just rotate the unit slightly after letting go of the button. This would be fun at parties, or sneaking into someone's bathroom.

This thing SUCKS!
It did NOT come with a user manual as the flimsy cardboard packaging said. Trying to assemble it myself was a joke. I cut my thumb trying to remove the little plastic door on the battery chamber and then had to TAPE it back on just to reassemble the stupid thing. Then I recorded a message on it which was fairly unintelligible when we listened to it. I'm sending it back and re-ordering another in the hopes that we got a lemon and the next one will work as advertised.

Fun ... use it as a surprise when someone you know goes to the John ...
On her birthday morning I secretly recorded message for my lady. I was in the kitchen. She gets up and goes to the powder room. Suddenly, I heard a huge laugh ......... she was dying. She loved loved it. She posted it on FB for everyone to see. Its easy to record a message and rerecord. Its funny and worth the purchase. I loved it.

Fun Party Gag, Recording Quality So-So
This gag functions very well in terms of being able to easily record whatever reaction you want on the playback feature and performing reliably when the roll is turned. I had higher hopes for the quality of the voice recording, though. Sounds a little muffled. Were it not for that I would have easily given 4+ stars. Pretty inexpensive, so all-in-all not a bad deal.

GREAT gag gift...GREAT!
I have only had it a few hours and having read some negative reviews, I was worried that the recording might not be loud enough if there were background noises...so I yelled as I recorded..and was thrilled when I heard the clarity and volume....Needless to say, I love it!I will be posting back to tell how long the item actually works...but it did work twice VERY WELL.
