Perfect size for a sun catcher.
Bought these for a Vacation Bible School craft. The 000 size was a size smaller than I could get at any store in person. I had my dad and brother help me drill some additional holes in these (one in the very middle and one near each end) so they could be hung by a chain on the wall as a sun catcher. I painted them with a clear coat of spray paint after washing the oil off and letting them dry a bit.

however cast iron isn't a good material for welding
I feel a bit reluctant to submit a review as I'm using the shoes for craft projects, making Christmas wreaths and trees out of them. There are companies that sell cast shoes for such projects, however cast iron isn't a good material for welding, I'm making these items for family and want them to last so I wanted a quality forged steel show. I was very pleased with these shoes and company, already placing a second order and am sure I will order more.

Good for hobby or very small horses

trivets
used these to make indoor (counter) trivets and outdoor (cast iron) trivets. seasoned them with flax seed oil. everyone (including myself) loved them.

Great
They are great. The only knock I would have is that all of the nail holes were not fully punched through on the odd one. Not that big a deal for what I was using them for.
