Not Great
I had never read anything from this author before, but picked it up along with others before a long trip to put some new releases on my Kindle. This one was a disappointment. About 25 percent of the way in I was saying to myself, "this is really boring." I recognize that a big part of the plot is that the focal character, Sara, is a practical and cautious person, but after many chapters of getting to know her she just comes across flat and dull. The other main character is potentially more interesting but not much time is spent on her. And by the time they are in love with each other I really didn't understand how, I had not picked up the spark. Starting at about 60 percent through, I started skimming just to get through the rest. Even toward the end the moments that are supposed to be gratifying really just aren't.

Rack 'em up!
I couldn't believe I had a Kenna White novel on my shelf I hadn't read when it first arrived. Sara works in the hospital's lab and her boss Dr. Lesterbrook is hard to figure out. Jessie Singer is a patient who is worried she will need to have her breasts removed. They move in and out of each other's worlds, but mostly Sara is in Jessie's world of running a bar/being a bartender/and becoming a professional pool player. When Jessie's grandfather becomes ill, she must decide where she wants to be...with family or shooting pool.

Author phoned it in.
I found this book tediously boring. I have read other works by the author that were fairly good for the genre, but this felt sloppy, like the author wasn't even interested in her own story. There was very little character development and what little there was made the main character seem annoying. There was no spark in the romance at all, yet the characters went from indifference to madly in love in the turn of a page. There was very little time spent on the love interest, which is a pity. A romance with a smooth professional billiards player could have been super hot. What a waste of a good story line.

A med tech, a bartender/pool player and a motor scooter
I like the characters and the story is kept interesting with amusing dialogue as these two women struggle to find their relationship.

Another fine romance from an award winning author.
Award winning author Kenna White has given her fans an enjoyable romance. Sara Patterson works in the lab of a small hospital on the southern coast of Washington State. She enjoys her job and her co- workers. Jessie Singer has come to the lab for some tests. Jessie is a bartender in her grandfather's bar. Her dream is to become a professional pool player. When Sara and Jessie meet, there are definite sparks. That said, these two women could not be more different in their goals. Kenna has done a great job with her two main characters, and with the supporting characters. She has also done her homework and describes what goes on in a lab with great detail. The romance between Sara and Jessie is well done, and develops at a very believable pace. This is a great book to cuddle up with!
