CowboyStudio Three Professional Caster Wheels Set for Light Stands

First off the castor wheels in the image are not exactly like the ones you will be shipped. The brake is plastic and the wheel is a different color. However this error in the image does not take away from what they do and that is move your stand around. These castors are designed for smaller light stands and probably for the ones cowboy studios sells (fair enough). One thing I really like about these wheels is the fact they do not mark up my green or white cyc floor. The screw does stick out a little but you can avoid hitting it if you know what you are doing. In the long run the price and quality are a very good deal.

The stand is sturdy and well built. The major problem I have is that the casters are set at a weird angle. They are not straight when the stand base is set to the correct full open position. You either have to deal with crooked wheels or not extend the legs to the full open position. I would not recommend this unit as it doesn't work as pictured in the ad. Also the screws that tighten the casters to the legs are way to long and stick out quite a bit catching cords and such when you move it.

The locking screw in one of the 3 caster wasn't threaded correctly and I could lock it down all the way. Will need to rethread it myself, should be an easy fix. Other than that they work well and make moving the light stand around the studio a lot easier.

I have ordered 8 sets of these now and all of them are wonderful, easy moving and heavy metal/sturdy in quality...that is why I've placed 3 orders of them now. the ones I rec'd are NOT the ones pictured here in this image, instead, the ones I have rec'd in all of my orders are of the same kind, but more visually appealing and a larger wheel. Rolls smoothly, quietly and does NOT have any down sides I can find so far. Would buy again if I need more.

Unless you make them EXTRA tight, they tend to swivel and flatten out on the stand. To combat this, I finger tighten first, then use pliers for an extra turn or two. Works!

Wheels seem well constructed are all metal with rubber wheels. The problem is in the description. This phrase "Attaches to light stand poles 7/8" wide (1" wide on outside)" is confusing. To me "1" wide on outside" means 1" diameter legs will fit. Nope, that's not the case. They fit 7/8" diameter legs. That's it and that's how it should be written.

These wheels are not something I would purchase again and returned them after mounting them to a light stand. They are not set at the correct angle to offer easy motion. The set screw is too long and risks being bent inadvertently. Not recommended.

I have been looking for a way to wheel all of the lights in our studio and found this inexespensive product. Installed them and am loving them! They work perfectley with all of our light stand. I will be ordering more of them.
