Manhattan Toy Wimmer-Ferguson Mind-Shapes Multi-Sensory Soft Activity Shape Set

If I could pick just one tummy time toy, this would be it! It’s simple, classic, and practical. The shapes were much bigger than I thought they would be! They are plush, so nothing gets hurt if a toddler tosses them around. When shaken, the triangle makes a clear bell sound, and the square makes a “dried beans” type rattle. The ball has crinkly plastic inside that crunches when squeezed. I bought them for my two-month-old for a tummy time visual toy, but I can definitely see these being used until he’s over a year old! My 23-month-old and three year old love to handle these as well, I wish I had had them with my first baby! Of all the hight contrast products one can buy, I went with these and I am glad I did. Each shape makes a different sound, the ball crinkles, the triangle twinkles, and the square rattles. My son is two months old and when I put these in front of him, his eyes get wide and he focuses in on the different patterns and you can see his mind absorbing the information. He starts kicking his legs and moving his arms around. It really is the coolest thing. I like that the shapes are soft and can grow with him for a while. Bravo to Wimmer-Ferguson. This is a fantastic tool for little minds that is fun too.

I recommend these for any new baby. And I always say its not too early to start. Even if you are just showing your child the pictures on the shapes and they eventually play with them. I believe that my sons hand eye coordination has developed early at 4 months because of a fun routine I do with these blocks. They are enticing him to be on the move when I place them a little bit away from him. They are also specially developed, I mean they literally say something on the cover of the box they come in like "research and development" I don't know about you but seeing R and D on the box of his baby product definitely sold it for me. The come in different colors than shown. They have material that crinkles and has different textures. Also two of them make a rattle type noise (the other crinkles). It is proven that black and white are the first colors that a newborn can absorb with their undeveloped rods and cones of the eye, you can tell that my son loved black and white from the moment he came home. We have a Marilyn Monroe collectible framed gorgeous black and white picture of her that he cannot get enough of!!! Again, I highly recommend these.

You wouldn't believe how much a just born baby can play with this toy. My 6 day old daughter has already started actively playing with this toy for the past 2 days. She keeps staring at the black and white images for almost 1 hr. If the toy is moved from her sight slowly she turns her head accordingly thus showing positively that she has been staring at this toy. The baby face is her favourite. She also makes ooh ah noises at the flower pattern in the triangle and the cube. However, she doesn't like the cat face on the ball and always makes an effort and somehow turns the face away from her when the ball is kept near her reach. This toy also has various textures. My daughter loves it when I move her hand and let her feel the soft red fabric texture.. she doesn't like to touch the yellow fabric texture and always removes her hand when I run her hand through it. All said and done; this is a must have for any parent looking forward to spending some quality time with their child and watch her play on her own as well.

My daughter really likes this set of toys and has been using it consistently for about 7 months. We got these early to practice tracking and let her look at the patterns, but as she got a little bit older and could start to manipulate the toys to make noise or turn it around to see the different images and textures she enjoyed playing with this on her own. I usually give her either the ball or cube when I put her in her car seat and I can hear her playing with it and entertaining herself for usually the entire ride--until she falls asleep or accidentally kicks it out of the seat. While it is a good early baby toy, it seems to "grow" with her quite a bit and she is almost 9 months old and has not yet gotten bored of playing with it. Nothing bad to say!

Great toy! My toddler has had this toy since birth. He still uses it today in different ways…Especially the ball. These dont get dirty easily and they are safe as they are soft. Easy for babies to play with and the colors are cute. We’ve used this a lot and for different activities so it’s well worth the money. The cube is missing because he still plays with it. Great functionality!

This has been one of our favorite playtime toys since around the 3 month mark. My little guy lights up every time I squeeze the crinkle ball (Used it recently at a photo sitting to elicit lots of smiles.), he loves the fox on the pyramid, and he babbles to the baby's face on the cube. Now, at 6 months, he can grab at and pick up the shapes and loves to play catch with the ball. I love the variety of textures, bright colors, eye-catching b & w pictures, and the different sound each toy makes. These shapes truly are a feast for all the senses. I only deducted a star because a seam came apart on the pyramid in our first set and I had to return it. Now, the seam is starting to come apart on the ball and I'll have to return that also. We can't be without our crinkle ball!

We bought these before our baby girl was here, and from day 1 she loved to look at them! Fast forward to 7 months old she’s still just as entertained with them! It’s great all 3 toys make a different noise (ball crinkles, triangle seems to have a louder rattle noise and square has a softer rattle noise), they all have different patterns and textures throughout! These are super easy for me to clean as well. Definitely recommend to any expecting parent!

Generally I am glad I discovered this brand, I wish I had noticed it earlier with my 1st child. I love the different noises that each shape makes, the pictures and images the quality of the product itself,vibrant colors, texture. I like the fact that they are useful at later age as well, my 2y old likes to hold the ball or sphere, the Pyramid and the cube. I am teaching her based on those 3pieces. Can’t wait for the new baby to start experiencing them herself.

My 3 month old loves these. Even when they are not rattling, crinkling or chiming he enjoys staring at the high contrast patterns or images on them. When he's older he'll be more interested in the different textures as well, but for now, they are well worth the money since they are also well made. They may become part of my go to baby shower gift baskets!

Love these toys! My husband made a play gym with these to hang over our son. He loves looking at the black and white images and has just started hitting them.

These different shaped material blocks are great for my 2 month old Granddaughter, they attract her!
