Other than the strong chemically smell of the product, it does a great job as a protectant. I always use it before a blow dry or an event under the sun. A small request to the brand to do something about the smell.

Does the job and I haven’t seen any adverse effects till now.

Hardens hair.. if after applying it and using the styling product, a bit of moisture or water touches hair, it makes hair look oily and hard.. very bad.. kindly refrain from taking risk

Its good, but not meant for dry hair.

Should’ve bought the bigger one. But this size is good to carry on the plane. My old bottle got confiscated at the airport

If you are looking for a lightweight, quality heat protectant— then CHI 44 Iron Guard is the perfect solution for you. I have tried many different heat protectants over the years and nothing ever seems to compare to how well this product works for my long, fine hair. I always try to make sure that I protect my hair as much as I can from heat damage, and I’ve noticed a significantly less amount of split ends when using heat tools or styling vs. using no protectant/ other brands. The smell is super pleasant and it goes on very easy. I either spray it about 6 to 12 inches away from my hair and then brush in before using, or I will pump it into my hands and run it through my hair like that. A little goes a long way, and it’s definitely a staple in my hair care regimen. I also like to put it in my hair on sunny days to give it that extra bit of protection from the sun. I find that it keeps my hair feeling soft, and not like there’s any product in it, as well as keeping frizz control down to a minimum when straightening or curling it. I love love love CHI’s hair care products!
