Very Shocking
More than just a "one hit wonder." This music is a time capsule from the wonderfully creative & groovy 1960's. Being in a band during that decade was the thing to do, but not every band made it on record or became known. Listen, study, appreciate this cd, and consider the period in which it was made. I Love It!

Surprising
After watching several video clips of Shocking Blue on Youtube, I felt this CD was worth the gamble. I was not disappointed. I was in high school when the song "Venus" came out, and always thought the band was a one-hit wonder. Shocking Blue's record label did them a disservice by not promoting the band enough in this country. The CD is full of solid, catchy tunes that surely would have been well received had the American public been made aware. Of course, "Venus" was the big hit around the world, but songs like "Love Buzz" and "California Here I Come" are also exceptional. "Acka Raga" is an instrumental with the sitar featured prominently but not to excess. The song rivals anything similar including "Norwegian Wood" by the Beatles. The lyrics may be simpler compared to today's music, but these songs were recorded in the 60s and 70s and hold up well. Mariska Veres' voice is simply amazing.

Absolute Classic
I bought the LP when it came out in early 70s for the hit 'Venus'. The other tracks I enjoyed just as much even though these were not commercial and catchy like 'Venus' and not really to my taste at the time.I sold all of my LPs about 10 years ago and have been meaning to replace 'Shocking Blue at Home' with the cd.And so I have. And my first impressions? "Just as I remember it and the sound quality is very good." With the experience of age and appreciation my music tastes are diverse now and I enjoy this album more than ever and look forward to listening to it again and again.. It's one of those rare but excellent albums. I have tried to find other albums, even by Shocking Blue that are very similar but as yet not found any.

Classic Dutch 60s pop.
Like most people, I only knew "Venus" and to a lesser degree "Send Me a Postcard". I've always rated "Venus" as one of the top 3 pop songs of all time, certainly IMO.I'd wanted to hear more of Shocking Blue, bit the bullet and got this album. Glad I did. It's full of great pop/rock with a light psychedelic feel, and a hint of country blues coming through. Highly recommended. CD turned up on time.

The sound is not the same like the original repertoire label
The sound is not the same like the original repertoire label, that I had the cover colours the same problem. Some tracks are more higher than others. The Shocking Blue is a great band but this edition don't justified it.Poor sound.
