Indispensable
Genius product. I'm a big fan of the come-a-long, the major shortcoming being the length of the cable that can be used. With this product, I can put any length of the correct 1/2 inch 3 strand line into it and get a very effective long range puller. I have used it for moving material and mostly for pulling tag lines on trees. It's probably strong enough to pull a car stuck in the mud, etc. One thing that I have noticed is that under very heavy tension, the rope can deform enough to no longer be held by the cleat. For most tasks going from taut to slack, this should not be an issue, but I would be wary of using it to rig down pieces of a tree- shock load on a decent sized piece could likely pull straight through the cleat. As long as it's used as intended, it is one terrific tool.

Works like a champ
Watch some videos on how to operate the leaf spring that controls the ratchet pawls. Those controls aren't super intuitive, but work well once you get the hang of it.Really handy to be able to feed rope through the puller, can use a lot more rope than would fit on a spool. The grip on the rope provided by the wheel is surprisingly strong.

Handy piece of equipment!
I use this a lot when I’m out on a snowmobile by myself. This is a pretty slick device and way cheaper than mounting a winch on a sled or ATV. The rope version can be used for unlimited length, and I find the stretch in a rope is very handy. Just tie off to a tree, click yourself a bunch of tension and give the sled a little lift. Eventually everyone gets stuck. But this thing makes getting out a lot easier on the back. Work smarter, not harder.

Great Tool
I am not sure what they mean by "stretch & sheerness, but I can tell you I'm not the biggest or youngest guy living out it the woods, and this is a great tool to have on hand. I have pulled down old trees, pulled large logs of hills, etc. Well made. Find Samson / Promaster / 3 Strand / 1/2 inch (you can try tree stuff - I would not get any other rope for this (the other dacron one I tried did not work (slipped).

Perfect around the house, or in the woods
Once you try a rope winch, you'll put your wire-rope come-along in the bin. When your winch and lines are in position, pull on the slack until your pulling line is taught. From there-- winch away. You don't need to pull 10', and then re-rig. Pull until the job is done.3/4 of a ton (1500 pounds) is a lot. If the winching gets too hard, give your rigging plan a re-think.

Excellent for tree work
I used a regular Come Along for tree work over 45 yrs. I used this ONCE and will never go back again. Read it again, I will never go back. If you do tree work, you won't believe how good this tool is until trying it. As long as you don't need more than 1500 lbs your good to go. I keep my 100ft, 3 twist, 1/2" rope, the puller, and an anchoring sling all in one 5 gallon bucket.

Well built
This is the best thing a single person should have when cutting down trees. Makes easy work of tensioning guide line to drop the trees where you want. Be sure to use 1/2 inch 3 strand non synthetic rope in the pulley itself.

Perfect item
This come-along is great. I use it with the rope that is made for it to pull a tree that I'm cutting down. Unlike the regular come-alongs that have a 6' wire length, this one has unlimited rope length. Makes it much easier. I don't have to readjust, like I sometimes have to with the wire come-along.
