Dream Big, Little One (Vashti Harrison)

Great gift and reading for my niece.

Absolutely adorable little board book! I got the other version for my 3 year old daughter last Christmas. But it really is too much for a small child. When my sister gifted this one, it was perfect! So perfect that I bought another one to frame pages for my daughter’s room! I thought this was a wonderful way to surround her with art and expose her to black history and role models who can inspire her to “dream big”!!

This book is fantastic! The illustrations are beautifully done. The content is short and sweet enough for my daughter to sit through a reading. I love that this book can begin to inspire my daughter at her tender age to dream big and work toward positively impacting her world. It's a great foundation for Harrison's book - "Bold Women In Black History."

Cute book with simple art but it might be too simple? It's one sentence for each person, which is fine, but maybe they could have rhymed or something? The opening and ending statements in the book rhyme,. But nothing else. Seems off? I personally expand on what's said, telling my child details about the person that I know, but it's kind of boring otherwise?

Easy read and great story to share with young children. I love how indestructible the hardcover is. We read this one at bedtime nightly and it has always been a favourite of ours.
