I love this bed as much as my son does
I searched for months for the perfect bed for my growing just-turned-five year old. I found this one and everything about it was just what I was looking for in a bed for him. It arrived really fast after ordering it. The boxes were really heavy and I was nervous about the ease of putting it together after reading a few of the other reviews. It was a breeze. There is a ton of instructions that were easy to follow. Everything was labeled. My husband put it together by himself in a couple of hours and taking his time. Even though it is fabricated wood, it is very sturdy and heavy and looks very nice. It is a quality piece of furniture. The height is perfect for our 5 yr old. I am almost 6' tall and it comes up to my chest. Just high enough where I can tuck him in and give goodnight kisses ;). The drawers are very ample and very sturdy and smooth on tracks. The toy box is perfect, like a little treasure chest for his things. The front door and drawer storage area is great too. He loves the cubby storage areas beside his mattress, perfect for holding his little flashlight, remote, and anything else he wants beside him at night. It is super easy to make up his bed. We had bought him a thicker twin mattress that fits snugly and even though it's thicker padded, it doesn't come over the top of the rails. He loves the play area beneath the bed. Him and our Yorkie dog can be frequently be found under there together playing. I absolutely adore this bed. It is very functional and sturdy. It held a 145 lb teenager with no problem at all. It makes the best use of space. It fits perfectly in small rooms and helps keep things organized. Best of all, my son loves it. We were missing one drawer rail piece and one screw for a drawer handle, and I emailed the company with the bed information and what was missing from the box and they sent a whole new rail and several screws to us within two days! I am very impressed with customer service of this furniture company, which is made in Canada, a huge plus for me! This bed will be around for a long while.

Beautiful when completed.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because the concept and the item are beautiful. I ordered the Bed and also the matching TV stand. The TV stand fits perfectly in the cubby hole under the bed, making a cube with 2 extra drawers and shelves. It also leaves a space behind the tv stand that allows for long term storage of items out of sight, that you can get to by pulling the stand back out.The bad parts are that the corners of some of the parts were smashed in shipping, but we used them anyway. The drawers in the dresser part were put together properly, but did not line up with one another, so they didn't close. We did, however, swap the drawers with the tv stand (same ones) and managed to get them to pretty much work. Only one drawer pinches against another now. It is beautiful and sturdy though! It took us about 7 hours total to put together all the pieces. Putting the bed supports in the bottom of the top piece was confusing and trial and error. Attaching the top piece to the cabinets was a nightmare. What we figured out was that the 2 little pieces of wood that it shows to go on the underside of the bed, next to the long support wood, were only spacers to use to keep the long wood piece in place. They get thrown away afterwards. Nothing explained that. There are no explanations in the instructions, just pictures and arrows. Their instructions could use some improvements, like adding the color of the different screws in the parts list, ie; black screws, brass screws, silver allen bolts, etc. They could also print arrows on the unfinished sides of parts to show which direction is up. That would have been a huge help! All in all, I'm happy with it. Much better than other brands of put-together furniture. I like that they added little braces for the drawer bottoms to keep them from bowing out.

Great Bed, shoddy parts.
I received this bed and I love the build. I was able to assemble it pretty quickly, about an hour per part (solo) while watching a movie. It feels sturdy when built and we had no problems carrying each part alone to their location. The big problem I had was with the nuts and bolts of the sucker. They did not include extra screws and bolts. there were 2 crucial parts (150 13MM Nut, and 278 13mm screw) that were not manufactured correctly. The one nut had no threads and the screw had no slot for the screwdriver. What this means is I was unable to put the 4th bolt in the bead, rather I am using a 3" screw and with the Flat Head I just had to go without on one drawer. it should hold together but I might grab a wood screw for that as well.Otherwise the bed looks good, feels sturdy and we are waiting to see what our kid thinks of it.

Happy with my purchase.
I was pleasantly surprised as there are some mixed reviews. Don't expect solid wood, but it is still very good quality furniture. It was a bit tedious to put together, and it is definitely better with two people. The bed is very cute and spacious. It works well in the small room we got it for, and the dresser fits nicely underneath leaving lots of floor space. The only improvement would be that I wish the ladder had wider rungs, or maybe were more like steps to make getting in and out a bit easier....but that is a small thing. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

Great bed, but watch out for...
UPD: Took another star off. The edges are pretty much a hazard with the sharpness they are, both my son and husband had serious scratches and took off skin on their fingers & hands several times already since we've had the bed. Tonight my son was inconsolable crying because he took off the skin again while climbing up into his bed. SHARP, SHARP and once again SHARP edges all over. We've put stuffed toys now around where he sleeps and most likely will put on some tape on the edges to make it less of a danger.Overall we really love the bed, the space it saves, and the cozy nook it provides for the play. My child loves getting under the bed to read or watch cartoons, he calls the place his “house”.The bed itself came in 3 different boxes and they are very heavy, so be mindful of that. It took couple of hours to put it together, so wasn’t too difficult. All small parts were packed in their own baggies, the instructions were clear and had pictures. The quality was not bad at all, but we just received it, so going to see how well it lasts with everyday use.Rating it a 4 for several reasons:- The large part of the bed had a huge scratch right in the middle of the wall. We didn’t do much about it since that part was not the visible part, instead under the bed part. We just book a kid’s book shelf to cover it. And since the kiddo was so excited to get the new bed for the same nigh…- The edges of the furniture are VERY sharp. My child already had several scratches from it. First night he was so excited that he grabbed the edges to look over and cut his fingers. That is the biggest issue for me, because now every day I have to remind my 3 year old not to grab the bed and be careful when getting toys out of the attached shelf.

Good quality, difficult assembly.
This bed is beautiful and a space saver for sure. It is definitely not an easy task to get it into a bedroom though! Comes in three HEAVY boxes, you will not be able to carry them all with one person. It was quite difficult to put together, 2 men, both good with their hands and building things took a solid 5 hours to decipher and decode the diagram instructions. In the end there were screws missing for the support boards that go under the drawers but we were able to find some and get it together. After construction tho there have been no complaints other than having a hard time finding the right sized mattress. It requires very specific measurements and not a standard twin. Make SURE to read the dimensions before ordering one. NO HIGHER than 9" for safety is the most important I feel should be listed here. My son loves his bed, and we love the storage and play space. Happy ending :)

Absolutely perfect!
I bought this bed for my 2.5 year old, and she now spends the majority of her time in her room, on her bed! It looks great, is super functional, and I love that she can have a fort underneath. She uses the shelf section beside her bed for her stuffies (I call it a turtle shelf) I think we'll get about 10 years out of the bed before she outgrows it.It says you need 2 people to assemble it, but I managed to get it done by myself. It took about 7 hours - not kidding you. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand - the only time I started having issues is trying to assemble the top portion. It seems like they stopped pre-drilling holes, but I made short work of this with my handy dandy drill.I almost had to give 4 stars - there was some damage on a few pieces from the shipping process (a dent on top of the drawers, and a chuck taken out of the top of the drawer portion). However I got lucky! Once assembled, these imperfections couldn't be seen! It appeared to be packaged very well, but a few dings still got through.All-in-all, highly recommended!

It took 2 men that are good with tools almost 6 hours to fully assemble this bed plus the matching side stand, but it was all worth it. The kid ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!The overall product is very well constructed and is not difficult to put together, there are just many pieces, so it takes a long time.Plenty of storage, so practically everything my daughter had in her room ended up being put in the drawers with room to spare. Her closet is almost empty now.The ladder looks steep but my 3 year old climbs up and down no problem, although it says on the box that it's for kids age 6 and up.Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.
