Dry, but good meal replacement.
TL;DR: They're all dry so make sure to drink something with them, personally recommend the "Crunch" flavors (Super Cookie Crunch, Mint Super Cookie Crunch, Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch), seems like a decent meal replacement, good protein and carbs for your workout.Right, so I took notes over the week I was eating these to keep track of my thoughts and experience with these bars. Overall they're dry so definitely drink something with them. My sugar tolerance is pretty low so they were almost unpleasantly sweet for my tastes, leaving me with that subtle sugary burn in the back of my mouth, and the other flavors seemed subtle as a result. Of course ymmv on the flavors, so take my opinions on that with a grain of salt. As far as meal replacements go, I believe they did the job. They kept me full between meals during my ususal workout routines, but on more intense days these bars felt more like snacks and left my stomach feeling like an all-consuming black hole. I'll chalk it up to user error in case I just wasn't eating enough on those days. Now for the individual bars themselves:-Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough had a chewy texture that I liked, though my notes say "jaw workout". It has that generic protein bar flavor and I didn't notice much, if any, chocolate flavor. Definitely had some vanilla and maybe a hint of something like cinnamon. Not as dry as the other bars.-Peanut Butter Pretzel was "honey forward" according to my notes. There are actual pieces of pretzel on it, and there was some caramel flavor. Despite there being some peanut butter coating on it, I apparently didn't notice the flavor. This one, along with Crispy Apple Pie and Vanilla Caramel Churro have the same core texture: a sort of dense crispiness that, in my opinion, sounds better in text than it feels in the mouth. Personally I didn't like the way they scraped my gums.-Crispy Apple Pie tastes like an apple pie, so the flavor is good but it loses points for scratching the inside of my mouth.-Vanilla Caramel Churro: My notes on this one seem confused, so I guess I couldn't make sense of the flavor at first. Mostly tastes like sugar, apparently, with a subtle cinnamon flavor buried beneath it. Makes sense, now that I'm thinking about it, and now I have the ungodly temptation to gently heat one of these up to see if that'll change anything.-Granola Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip isn't as sweet as the last three, and has that generic protein bar flavor with maybe a hint of vanilla. "Has a flavor", according to my notes, but there's nothing on whether it tastes like peanut butter or chocolate. I'm assuming I couldn't taste either flavor or it was super subtle.-Granola Chocolate Chip is apparently a generic chocolate chip protein bar and somehow more sugary than the other granola bar in the trial pack.-Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch looks like it might be a softer bar, or at least that's what I thought when looking at the packaging. It's more like a very thick wafer in terms of texture instead of the cake-like thing I expected. The caramel did come through all the sugar in this one, but the overall flavor was like a sugary chocolate bar. Definitely in my top three.-Mint Super Cookie Crunch: my personal favorite because it tastes like a less intense peppermint patty. If you like mint chip ice cream, you'll probably like this one. Didn't taste as sugary either. Has that same wafer-like texture as Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch and Super Cookie Crunch.-Super Cookie Crunch: just had this one on the day of writing this review. There's not much to say about it that hasn't been said about the last two. It's chocolatey, has that wafer-like texture, dry like every bar in the pack (except Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough), and tastes like chocolate flavored sugar. Still in my top three because I love chocolate. In conclusion, I'm glad I started with the trial pack because now I know what to expect and what flavors I prefer. Feels a tad expensive for my liking, but I'm also cost conscious so that's influencing my opinion on the price. I'm not sure I'll use these around my workouts, but will probably instead keep them around as meal replacements when I can't find the motivation to get out of bed and cook something.

The Meal Replacement That Tastes Like Cheat Day
The MET-Rx Big 100 is less of a protein bar and more of a protein event. At 30 grams of protein, it doesn’t just snack—it announces its presence. The Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch flavor is dangerously good. It’s like dessert snuck into the gym and decided to get swole. Sweet, salty, crunchy, and chewy all at once—it tastes like it shouldn’t be this high in protein. Honestly, I’d eat it even if it didn’t have the macros of a mini meal. These bars are filling enough to replace lunch when I’m in a rush, but not so heavy that I feel like I swallowed a brick. Perfect for tossing in my bag for work, workouts, or “oops, I forgot to cook dinner” nights. In short: tasty, satisfying, and packed with protein power. The MET-Rx Big 100 makes me feel like I just leveled up in both strength and snacking. If brownies went to the gym, this is what they’d become.

MetRx again!
Protein bars have gone through changes over the years, as some people are looking for low carb, or perhaps 'plant' protein (which makes little sense to me, they simply are incomplete in AA composition). Years ago I used to use some of the original MetRx bars. They were nutrition dense, hard to chew, and not the tastiest things around. My old standby bars keep going up in price & I was looking around.Seeing the MetRx name, I was curious. This is a 30g protein bar that also has substantial carbohydrate. What the low-carb folks do not understand is that muscles REALLY need to reload glycogen (a storage polymer of glucose) after working out. That means take in some carbs! This bar tastes more like desert than nutrition. Yes, there is a good bit of sugar, but again POST WORKOUT that is not bad! It provides a READILY AVAILABLE supply of glucose to your muscles. These bars are expensive, but as a meal-replacement especially after working out, it seems worth it. Also realize that people are different (I am speaking as a physician), and their response to various diets, medications, etc will vary. I am one who does not function well with restricted carbs in my diet, I tend towards hypoglycemia. Years back (while competing as an endurance athlete) I went through a phase of low carb intake. I could not train hard enough, and it clearly was not compatible with intense races. So THIS bar FOR THIS ATHLETE is an excellent choice. YMMV

Met-Rx Protein Bars Will Keep Your Motor Running
Plenty of Protein Punch (32 grams) in these Super Cookie Crunch bars! They are large. Not overly sweet, but seem to us to have more of a cake like consistency rather than a candy bar, or cookie, consistency. 1/2 bar can keep you going, a whole bar is almost a meal replacement, or can be, depending on your metabolism and activities. We carry these in ur gym bags and car glove box.

Good meal replacement for on the go
These are a good value and taste pretty good, although the cookie isn’t my favorite flavor. (Apple is!) They tasted pretty fresh, are nice quality and definitely a large size compared to other protein bars. They really fill you up! I appreciate the various flavors and hope to try more in the future.

They taste amazing!
Delicious and filling. Did I mention they are delicious? Yeah, really yummy, and the protein amount is just right for a meal.

Tasty
I really enjoyed these as a tasty meal replacement bar. My partner said they had a weird aftertaste which I hires I could appreciate if I tried hard enough. It wasn’t enough for me to take a star off. I’d probably get these again.
