Keep the Series Going! It's Great!
You just don’t get a fantastic series that is already out to seven books very often. Every one of these books have been just great and this latest one is no exception! I was surprised by the start of this book. I think you will be to. Everything seemed to be going just fine when we last left the Omega Force. They had just solved the puzzle of why everyone was after them and it had more to do with the Phoenix than the Omega Force. Having solved that puzzle, they should have been back to their rather carefree good-guy hero role. That didn’t happen as you’ll find out. Jason will relate the whole story at near the beginning of this book so hang in there until you get to that part. It will explain a lot.Still, this book represents a major shift in the story-line. Not so much with the Omega Force, but with some of the surrounding characters. The author explains what he’s doing a the end of the book and it’s a good thing. I really like the characters that form the Omega Force and that group is not apparently going to change. I’m not exactly sure how they will continue, although they might now have a very powerful backer who is indebted to the Omega Force as he said, in a way that can never be fully repaid. Jason has also met up with another guy who appears to be on the shady side, but that’s not a given. This guy has tons of money and has already bailed Jason out when he needed it the most without asking for anything in return. Captain Burke did pay the guy off, but only because he didn’t want to be asked to do some kind of distasteful “favor” for this new benefactor. I don’t know if their relationship will last, but he could be a new player in the series. It is interesting that Captain Jason Burke is always the one to get the girl, so to speak. It seems like every time they are helping someone, there is a very beautiful human-type female involved and they take a very quick romantic interest in Jason. It’s not that Jason goes looking for this, he’s just that lucky, I guess. He crew don’t seem to really mind, although I’m not sure why they haven’t taken on clients that are from some of their other races. Again, being the Captain even with this crew has it’s advantages. And, it’s not like any of the other crew has come up with a female of their species that wants to fly around with them.Ok, so I’ve tried to be quite mysterious about the story-line in this book. it’s not something you will expect, but it does have significant repercussions on the rest of the series. In one regards, it makes it where the series can continue with the Omega Force a little more independent. They might also find a “home base” in which to reside while not actively assisting some one. As it was, they either just flew aimlessly through space or crashed a short while on the Defiant, but didn’t have a really good rest and recuperate location. I think they will establish one now. It’s going to be up to the author as to how much they can actually use this new down-time location. The next book in the series, “Omega Force: Human Factor” is already published and, of course, I have it. I can’t wait to read it, but I will have to read other books in-between this one so as not to finish the series before I really want to do so. That’s the bad part of a really good series, they always have to end at some point. Still, it sounds as though this author will continue writing Omega Force books as long as we buy and read them. Keep’em coming!

Roller Coaster of an Adventure
Loved the change of story arc and plot twists. Bantor between crew members had me rolling with laughter. Appreciated the serious dialog between characters toward the end. Action scenes and pacing were spot on perfect. Giving this installment 5 stars.

A Slightly Predictable Redemption, With Redeeming Qualities
I hope you find this review USEFUL.What I would have liked to know before I bought this book. (minor spoilers)1. What type of book is it: adventure, action, drama, etc? It’s a sci-fi space adventure.2. What is the story about, in general? 2 years after Omega Force broke apart, the kidnapping of a princess gives Jason new reason to gather the old gang. Omega Force gets involved in a twisted game of cat and mouse with old friends and new enemies. In short, it’s a Universe Reset.3. What/Who is the target audience? To be honest, I think this fits with all male audiences from teenagers to adult. That assumes they like space adventures.4. How is the editing and proofreading? Though a good line edit wouldn’t have hurt, the editing is good. The story manages to, generally, be tight. The proofreading is very good. I saw a lot of punctuation errors, but not that many spelling errors.5. Is there character development or exploration? Some. This is book 7. The characters have been explored to death. There are a FEW main character changes, but those aren’t very significant.Secondary characters have better character development, especially Crisstof.6. Are the characters likable? They don’t really change all that much. The character synergy continues to be funny and entertaining. Not a lot of changes between the characters, even with the change in story direction.7. Do you have to suspend disbelief? Kage conducts an act against the Defiant that challenges my disbelief, merely because of the DISTANCE involved. I found the explanation for its achievement vague and a somewhat illogical. I might be wrong, but there it is.8. Does the story keep its pacing? The book generally does keep its pacing. There is more action closer to the beginning of the story, than closer to the climax. The climax did not awe me. It felt rather ‘blah’, as if the climax wasn’t really important. The Universe Reset held more importance than having a super awesome climax. I get it, but wished for better. The twists and turns became less 'twisty' as the book developed, to the point that the events at the climax were predictable to a fault.9. Is the book worth the asking price? Yep. Generally good editing, very good proofreading, and an effort to keep the story moving…. $4 well spent. This MIGHT be a good $5 book, since I could see the effort that went into editing it and providing quality work.In conclusion: The 7th book in the Omega Force series lacks in character development, but character synergy continues to be pretty interesting. The rising action stalls as it approaches the climax, with problems becoming VERY easy to solve. Said tendency created a predictable climax that did not awe. Nevertheless, those observations are relative, because there IS plenty of general action, even with the stalled rise and climax. The editing has some flaws (weak verbs: was/were/has/to be) but is generally good, while the proofreading is solid. The price is good at $4 and might be acceptable even at $5. This is a book that has enough quality to be just above average. Good job.3.5 Stars

Gripping and satisfying series crescendo; finale?
Characterisation: Excellent; plot labyrinthine; believable EXPLOITATION of sentience interaction. A ' Tour De Force' of tongue in cheek interaction. MORE PLEASE!

Just gets better
I am glad the Joshua took this book where he did as he is quite right that it needed a reboot as the plotlines he had were taking the story to an early demise, this seventh book refreshes the series and hopefully ensures many stories to come and much more of Omega Force. This book also shows the maturing characters and plotlines and the gritier writing of an author maturing well which is a great thing for this series, and it also comes out in his Black fleet book which is another of Joshua's books that is a great read.

Great story. well paced except rushed at the end
This was a good return to the Omega force universe. The plot was intriguing and moved along well. A good read and the characters had developed well. The ending felt rushed and the resolutions were too far out of character. The author allowed his desire to close off part of the universe and characters to over influence the plot. It just did not feel right. Hence the 4 stars for what would otherwise be a 5 star story

another good 'un
Well just read Redemption in one sitting, loved seeing them all get back together with all the little nuances that make the books so much more lighthearted to read.Like the idea of the 'pruning', some characters were getting a bit well, boring. Not going to give any plot suppliers but I do hope the next instalment is not far away.Cheers Josh
