Jacknob Number 12-14 One-Way Screw Remover Yellow

I had to replace a deadbolt in our front door, and learned the hard way for the first time about "one way screws". Normal screwdrivers do not work to remove these screws, I could not find a "one way screw remover" in any local hardware stores, and a half-hearted attempt to drill out the screws was unsuccessful. I was reluctant to order this item due to the relatively high cost including shipping (about $18 total cost), and the mixed reviews. But, I also didn't want to pay to have a locksmith do the job. The item arrived promptly, and the screws were easily removed. Now, after an additional $15 for the new deadbolt, the problem is fixed and I have this tool available for the next time it's needed. I would be reluctant to ever intentionally use one way screws in anything, but I'm glad to have this tool in my possession for the next time it's needed (at least two other locks in our house also use the same one-way screws).

I did not have any luck with this tool. I tried pushing hard into the existing screw and turning, but no success. I find it hard to see how this tool would work in the majority of situations for removing one way screws -- it just doesn't seem ideal for the task.

Maybe it was me but I couldn't remove the one way screws in my defective door lock with this remover. There were no instructions included, so maybe there's something special I didn't know to do, but it didn't budge my one way screws.

this is one of those handy-dandy tools that no one knows about...until you need it! I needed it to remove an old double cylinder lock. This was shipped quickly and did the job. Slow and steady makes this work. Don't rush or you will not be able to get the screws out.**hint** local home-depot and lowe's do not sell these!

These are never easy to use, but they do work. While I liked buying these on Amazon for institutional use, I kind of wish they were still harder to find...one-way screws are usually put in for a reason!

I had an old security type screw attaching my deadbolt to the front door. We tried all types of screwdriver sizes/shapes, and a ton of strength and had no luck. Everything would slip. Some people said online you just needed more pressure. NOT TRUE! What I needed was this tool. I finally broke down and ordered it and the screw came out with no real effort. Problem solved! It may not be a tool you need daily...but when you need it, you need it!

I was skeptical at first, but with this screwdriver it took me just over a minute to unscrew the one way screws on the old window A/C brackets in my apartment window. You do have to be patient if the screw is screwed in pretty tight since you can't unscrew too fast, but the screwdriver will definitely do the job.If only I had these before, so many apartments in New York have old A/C brackets or those metal window guards installed long ago that nobody bothers or knows how to take out.Also bought the other screwdriver sizes, just in case, but so far haven't had to use the other sizes yet.

Ordered this to remove some one way screws on some locks around the house.The screws probably hadn't been turned in 20-30 years, and this tool was not up to the task. MIGHT work on screws that are just barely snug.Had to use a dremel and notch a head and remove that way. Actually went pretty quick once set up. Wasted money.
