This Starrey Reflective Tape is comparable to the 3M SOLAS product in quality + reflectiveness and is a DOT-C2 approved reflective tape. I applied the tape to the powder coated steel frame of a trailer-hitch mounted cargo carrier. About 48 hours after the application I made a 760 mile drive up the East Coast in winter weather. The tape was not effected by either the harsh weather or exposure to road dust, stones, sand, etc. The adhesives bonded easily and completely to the powder coated metal and were also unaffected by the road trip. So far this tape has proven to be as good as the far more costly “name brand” products I have used in the past.

REMOVES THE TAPE IS HIGHLY REFLECTIVE. DOES THE JOB I BOUGHT IT FOR. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE ADHESION PROPERTIES. THIS MAY BE MY FOUGHT. NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING. HOWEVER, I DO REMEMBER FROM OTHER TAPING I HAVE DONE, THAT YOU SHOULD RUB ISO ALCOHOL OVER OBJECT YOU WANT TO APPLY TAPE TO. THE REASON BEING IT REMOVES OIL AND GREASE LEFT ON THE MATERIAL, FROM NOT ALLOWING THE STRONG ADHERENCE YOU NEED TO KEEP TAPE ON OBJECT. MY RECOMMENDATION, PRINT ON THE PACKAGE THAT YOU SHOULD CLEAN OBJECT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL, LET DRY, THEN APPLY THE TAPE ON A DRY SURFACE. HELPS IN THE ADHERING TO OBJECT,

Using this for added visibility on motorcycles. Quick to trim to size and stick in place, great daylight visibility and night time reflectivity. Some minor issues: (1)Not the most durable adhesion over time, especially on curved surfaces, bubbles up; on flat its fine. (2)There are two layers of material: white substrate w/adhesive for sticking to your working surfaces, and the top high-viz neon layer. These two layers separate REALLY easily if you try to pull the tape off. leaving the thin white layer stuck to your working surface and really hard to grab and pull off. The backing adhesive is stronger than the internal bonding between the layers. I found one good way to remove is to heat with a hair dryer and pull s-l-o-w-l-y. Overall effective for my application, just fine for the $$.

Works great for geocaching

I wrapped pieces of this tape around the small tubes of my luggage racks near the rear of my motorcycle but it seems to want to peel off. It's likely due to the thickness of the tape and therefore it's natural inclination and desire to be on a more flat surface. It seems to be sticking well on other flat surfaces. So I must now ask of you for a woop woop. Please!!! just one woop woop is sufficient. Thank you in advance for your kind and generous giving of that woop woop.

I’ve only had this tape for a month to re-mark the roof emergency exit on my bus. This tape has faded faster than expected and doesn’t seem to stick very well in some areas. Maybe I didn’t clean the surface as well as I thought. I’m not sure. Overall I’m happy with it though. I have more than enough to replace the other pieces as needed so I can retry my application technique. This tape might work better on the side of a vehicle. I might try it there next.

I got this to add reflective markings for a hitch mounted bike rack. Initial impressions were good, but it’s rapidly lost it’s color and is fading to white. Since I didn’t use a lot of the roll on my bike rack, I also used some on my mailbox. It’s been about five months since I got it, and the sun facing side of the mailbox is almost pure white now, the purse I used on the rack are at best now a dark pink, with quite a bit of fading. The adhesive is really good, which in this case is a downside since I’ll have to strip it all off and replace with a different brand. Unless you’re using it indoors, which defeats its main purpose, it’s a very poor product.

Compré esta cinta reflectiva para usarla en mi grúa y al principio cumplió bien su función, ya que refleja bastante bien la luz por la noche y mejora la visibilidad del vehículo. La instalación fue sencilla y el material parecía resistente al sacarlo del rollo. Sin embargo, después de pocos días expuesta al sol y a las condiciones normales de trabajo, el color comenzó a decolorarse notablemente. Además, el adhesivo no resultó tan fuerte como esperaba; en varias áreas empezó a despegarse por las orillas, lo que obligó a reemplazar algunas secciones antes de tiempo. La longitud del rollo es generosa y te ayuda para estar reemplazando más seguido si lo vas a usar para cosas pequeñas pero para vehículos de trabajo que permanecen expuestos al clima diariamente no es recomendable.

Hola. La calidad de esta cinta es muy buena. No obstante, me faltó grosor de la misma ya que solo viene 1" y para la defensa de mi camioneta Ford Econoline Camper se ve muy delgada, me hizo falta grosor en la cinta, debió haber sido de al menos 2" de grosor. Por lo demás, muy bien, se ve al menos a 150 metros de distancia y es precisamente lo que yo buscaba pues esta camioneta por su gran altura debe quedarse en la vía pública ya que no cabe en mi garaje.
