One twisted hot read
What I loved in this story were the twists and how unpredictable it was. The author kept me on my toes throwing things at me I didn’t see coming. I loved this plot and the characters. The author gives you dark intensity which is well written. She doesn’t give you enough to work it out as you second guess yourself and what you believe. This being the prequel to Stalker it gives you a taste of what is yet to come. It is a short read so you can’t say too much about it or you will give the story away. Believe me this is one book you do not want to miss.Vanessa wants the prefect revenge to get back at her husband. She sets it up only to find Phoenix has setup a trap of his own. The trapper becomes the trapped. Secrets are revealed as identities are unveiled. The past comes back to haunt leaving you asking who is evil and who is innocent. What we do know is Vanessa is the innocent wife accused of killing her husband she wants to bring the killer to justice. The only thing left is who did it. When she turns the table on the real killer she is left with one pissed off male. This story is filled with deception and lies that will most likely spell trouble for both.Ms. Wild gives you mystery, drama, passion of the finest as she throws in an arrogant killer. This well written twisted read is another example of why Ms. Wild is a New York bestselling author. One must be prepared for the forbidden darker side of romance. If you are looking for a sweet little read you might want to define sweet. There is no sugar here just some wild rocky roads where you are left guessing at every turn. If you are looking for a book filled with drama, suspense, mystery along with some hot steamy intense sex with one hot male and one sexy lady that lives life on the dark side this is the book for you. You are going to be so invested in this read you will forget to look for the clues to all the questions you are asking.

Poorly Written Novella That Is NOT DARK EROTICA, But Just Regular Erotica
I picked this up because one of my friends just could not shut up about the series. So, I figured why not, and gave ‘er a shot. I felt like these were thirty minutes of my life I just can’t get back.I am a fan of dark erotica novels. It’s one of those guilty pleasures that I have, and I was really expecting this to be one for the genre, however. It turned out to be nothing more than a poorly executed romance story, with a wanna-be vibe for dark erotica. There were a few things about this novella that just made it feel like a waste of time.First of all, the writing it not very good at all. The chapters are set up to where the perspective is switched between the main female protagonist and her male counterpart. The male character’s personality just comes off terribly horrid. I wish it was in the sense of, “Oh, he’s a jerk.” Instead, it’s more in the realm of, “Oh, his dialogue is so cheesy and repetitive, someone please shoot me now.” The woman wasn’t written nearly as poorly as Phoenix (the male villainy dude), but I feel like the author just couldn’t decide if she wanted to make her an assertive and intelligent being, or a ditzy lady who fakes a headstrong demeanor.Characters aside, the story-line was extremely foreseeable. But in all honesty, how much “suspense” can you really pack into a novella that’s about 60 pages long? Predictability and chunkiness gave the piece an indecisive flow to the whole thing, which is just an all around bad combination in my book.Moving on to my next element of disappointment. The book can be construed as erotica as there is a sex scene in it. Actually, strike that as there are two. The first one is just a quick summation of the duo getting it on, while the second scene is more detailed. It was probably the only part that seemed like it had been given any sort of thought. Why? Because it was the only scene that I had read where it flowed nicely, well to an extent. Where’s the disappointment, you ask? Well, let me elaborate. The sex was normal. It was a guy and girl who are attracted to one another and have their bit o’ fun. What bothers me is that this book has been classified as “dark erotica” and there is nothing dark in here at all. Having a murderer bang a lady who doesn't know what he is is not enough to classify this as “dark.” Being a fan of dark sexual literature, I was expecting some kind of BDSM, or other kink in that general realm. This has none of it. So, DISAPPOINTMENT.I know that I don’t have anything truly nice to say about Killer but I will still give it two stars instead of one. Why? Bloody bones, because I don’t want to be a complete jerk? Because other than the atrocious writing, if it had some proper love and attention it could have made a semi-decent romance read? We’ll stick with those, they sound good. Two terrible kisses out of five.

Adrenaline Rush
Holy frigging trembling!! Be calm my poor heart. My heart is beating so damn fast, I'm shaking with adrenaline, holy hell! I love Killer, I love Vanessa and Phoenix. WOW!! The twists and turns are simply amazing, simply mind boggling!! I'm still freaking laughing at the damn twist at the end and not because it was funny (it wasn't) but because holy spitballs <spellcheck> my heart just can't take that moment when everything changed, holy geez!! It's like that moment when you know you did something so damn wrong but don't admit it and you just freaking giggle because what else can you do, you don't want to cry because then you'd never stop, yeah... That's how I felt at the end, holy cripes!! I'm freaking terrified, lol!! See what I mean, I laugh and tremble instead of crying and shaking. That's this book, it made me feel like this, holy crap!! Seriously terrified and now I have to go read Stalker, hopefully my heart can take it. Clarissa, I seriously thought Mr. X and the Delirious series was great but this book, wow, just wow!!

Good
This was a short quick read that I liked. Vanessa is a trophy wife to a husband that has lied and cheated and now he is dead and she is suspect number 1. Vanessa knows who the killer is and now she has to find him to clear her names. Along the way she finds support in his brother. This was a pretty good read I have read this author before. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Dark and Gritty
WOW what a dark and twisted tale and phenomenal teaser to Stalker. Clarissa has definitely caught my attention with this duology. The characters are dark and sadistic all of them with no redeemable qualities yet. With that said though I am still a huge fan of Phoenix I always love the broken bad boys and he is broken and hell bent on revenge the wrongs of his pass that he had to endure at the hands of Vanessa.
