TELLINGLY EXPLORING BENEATH THE SURFACE
More crack unit escapades when sent on top secret highly dangerous missions. Hostages rescued. Drug cartels smashed. Major terrorists captured or destroyed. Viewers craving adrenalin-fuelled excitement will find much to satisfy here. The series in fact represents far more than a succession of gung-ho antics. It delves deeply into the physical and mental strain such exploits incur. When very real comradeship exists within a team, what the effect on them all when tragedy intervenes, either in battle or at home? One issue raised is the failure officially to accept traumas resulting from horrendous experiences. Here, movingly depicted, is the plight of one trying to convince the authorities he is in a bad way. Then, of course, there is the effect on loved ones left behind, they ever in dread of a knock on the door and devastating news.David Boreanas impressively heads a fine cast (that must often be exhausted after all expected to do). Storylines may at times seem far-fetched, but those in the know vouch for authenticity. (Again a surprise is the absence of swearing, this in circumstances where one might have expected quite a bit. Does this reduce plausibility? If not, then certain other shows with expletives so common would do well to take note.)22 episodes. Bonuses include an interesting half hour feature on how major characters struggle to cope with the challenges. In one way and another, this powerful series has much to offer.

A good second season
Those who liked season 1 will definitely like season 2. The flaws are the same: a little bit too much patriotism, an unrealistically noble CIA, our boys are the best, etc. etc. The Navy Seals being a gang of highly trained assassins, you would not expect one of them to have a major crisis because one of their victims died without being administered the Catholic rites. But in the end everything turns out fine: two couples overcome their crises, there is romance in the air, and Jason pays his daughter's bills. Despite all its shortcomings, the series is quite enjoyable. There is action en masse, the good always win and the bad guys (muslim, of course) always die. Seals never miss a shot, their enemies always. Good entertainment, not very realistic but still pleasant to watch.

Fast-paced and entertaining
Season 2 has more depth than Season 1, as well as a few ongoing threads. There is also a little more variety in the episode plots. I'm not going to pretend that there is a great deal of profundity in the story-line (with the possible exception of the traumatic brain injury issue), but I'm looking for good acting, professional production, reasonably plausible story lines and some good entertainment, rather than deep symbolism and a philosophical treatise. The season is rounded off well, without any frustrating cliff hangers. My favourite character remains Cerebrus the dog - what charm, what energy, what brilliant acting!!

Great and reached real emotional depths by the end of this season.
Seal Team is great fun, with surprisingly likeable characters.....(and as mentioned before, some of the episodes do feel like they're talking down to other nations sometimes).....but I stuck with the season and it really redeemed itself and in fact, in the end it hit emotional heights I had not expected. The sub-plot about military injuries was also impressive and well done. All in all, despite a few issues, this is a tremendously well-written and well-acted drama. I look forward to watching the next season. Congrats to the writers and actors - and producers who made some very good decisions.

A little disappointed
I have to say I was disappointed by this, the first few episodes didn't pack the punch I was expecting and weren't as engaging as season 1.Things did start to pick up a little after the half point mark when it came to number if episodes but not as potently as I hoped for.
