For Now Not Bad
I was running the Fluval 306 canister and the Aqueon Quiet Flow 20 together on my 27gal cube tank. My tank is over stocked, but with small fish. It's my daughters tank in her room. I could never keep the water clear without add some chemical to the water every few days. I was using Acurel-F to clear up the water and it did work, but like I said I would have to use it every few days. I got the SunSun JUP-01 and installed it in the tank right away. I really didn't pay any attention to the tank for the rest of the day. Installed it around 2pm and got my daughter ready for bed at 8pm the water was a lot clear. The water always has a little cloudiness in it. Not a green tint. With the LED lights you can see if the water has any milky cloud in it easily. This morning I got my daughter ready for school and fed the fish and wow the water was clear. The only thing is I wish this had a water flow control to slow it down a little. 27gal cube the water flow of this thing is close to the output of my Fluval 306 canister. 18 fish in a fresh water 27gal tank and they don't look like they are being blown around. The air valve is kind of useless to have. It will blow air into the tank, but it makes a lot of small bubbles that float around all over the tank. In mot sure why that is an added feature. Another thing is the suction cups. They should have made tabs to easily remove the JUP-01 suction cups from the glass. When it's stuck to the glass, it's stuck to the glass. Not easy to remove. But all in all I have to say, it works.. For how long, who knows.UPDATE... Its been about a week now or better. I use to have to do a 25% or 50% water change a week when cleaning the tank. Looks like I don't have to do a thing to it now. Water is very clear. I don't see any reason to vacuum the rocks. My tank is over stocked and between the Fluval 306 and the SunSun looks like my tank is now stable. The SunSun is still working, I see the little window to check the light and its still on.Another UPDATE... Well the SUNSUN still works, but my daughter wanted a few more fish. I started watching the tank a little more and seen the fish were being blown around a little. I unplugged the SUNSUN and seen yeah it is the output is a little too much. Maybe my tank is too small for the water flow that is coming out of the SUNSUN. My tank is 20x20x20x20 in size, 27 gallon cube. On a 20gallon long or tall might be better for the SUNSUN. Like I said I wish it had a water output adjustment on it. Nothing wrong with the SUNSUN JUP-01. I bought the Aquatop UVE-9 because it has a water flow adjustment. I might get another tank and still use the SUNSUN on that.

Very happy with results.
I have a well established 29 gallon fresh water tank with an AquaClear 30 and a standard undergravel filter. Everything had been going great for several years and then two month's ago I had a huge algae bloom and my water turned green. I have tried changing the water several times and turned off the light for over a week and the green water just keeps coming back. After reading about UV sterilizers I thought I would give it a try. When the package arrived on Monday (5 days ago) I opened the box, and took the filter apart to check the quartz tube and o-rings before putting in my tank. Like some of the other reviewers, I noticed some grease on the tube but this was easily wiped off. Having dealt with o-rings in plumbing and pools for awhile I know the grease is required for a good assembly. After the inspection I placed the filter (Sterilizer) in the tank and noticed I could not see it at the back of the tank because of the green water. By the next morning there was a noticeable clearing of the water and I could now make out the outline of the filter in the back of the tank. Over the next 3 days the tank cleared up more and more each day and this morning the tank is crystal clear :) There are a few issues with the filter... it is bigger than expected, and the force of the water coming out is way stronger than any powerhead I have, it blows the fish around. I am going to figure out a way to plug some of the output to reduce the flow and also put it on a timer to run several hours a day from now on. I will update this review after I have had it for several months.

Clear and powerful!
The media could not be loaded. My previous UV Light went out, couldn't find bulb to replace it so I took a chance on this model. My aquarium is 37 gal deep. It was so super green algae bloom, dense green, also nuisance snails abounded, the environment for my fish was dire at best. ☹😟🤢😪😔. I did no water changes at all! I simply installed the filter as instructed. I was working long hours, I had neither time nor energy for water changes. After 24 hrs there was almost no difference. Then, on the 3rd day 😲😲😯😳🙂WHAMMOOO!! THE WATER looked miraculously clearer, by day 4 and beyond,,,well its amazing! The snail population has also practically disappeared! I promise the pictures/ video are NOT FAKE!THE force of water that is expelled by this device is quite significant. I felt (although very amusing to watch the fish play in the current) long term may stress the fish too much. This is what I did: I have an Orchid betta, (beautiful fish fyi), anyway he came in a big plastic cup, which I placed upside down over the exhaust port. The forceful water swirls inside the cup, loses force then goes out the bottom, which is, obviously the sides of the filter helping keep debris away from it too.I also have loaches (eel kind) they can get into any little slit. So I put a large filter bag over the bottom to prevent them from getting into the filter (maybe they won't get a tan but it will keep them safe...lol. ha ha.)I have live plants, the leaves do get into things, So I always keep intakes covered with filter bags.Remember if you do the cup thing don't block it with too small a cup, leave plenty of space so the jet of water flows n swirls freely.I am very pleased so far,😁 although I've only had it about a week, the fish all are happy and healthy. Well my two large Angelfish bicker a lot, but they lay eggs from time to time, so I guess they are just like an old bickering married couple...lol he he😂🤣😅ha ha! My large algae eater he doesn't like any other fish around where its cleaning. But its a hard worker so we'll let him be...😆 🤣Oh I have a lid on my aquarium keeps the cup on the filter, otherwise the force would blow it off.
