Constellations: A Deck of Knowledge Cards

Worthwhile purchase
I've used my cards to identify & learn constellations. It gives the main stars & their relative locations to each other, and gives a drawing of what the constellation represents as an overlay over the stars. I still have to use the internet or a celestial globe to find the constellation's location in the sky, in relation to the other stars. I've used these cards almost daily for a few weeks now. I like them and recommend them.

Exquisitely Beautiful Flash Cards of the Constellations.
Nice size, firm flash cards that are beautifully laminated. Very interesting facts on the opposite side of the card about the origin and legend behind the constellation. You will even discover the legend of the Easter Bunny among these cards! Featured stars in the constellations are highlighted including distance in light years and magnitude. Fascinating and intriguing. But I do have one complaint. These cards are too high class to put into an ordinary cardboard box. Though I would say the box is also high quality there are only so many times you can slip these cards in and out before the edges will start to tear. Maybe in the future they could be put into a tin box for storage.

Not recommended
I was taking a celestial navigation course. I bought this card deck to enhance my learning. However, I found them to be almost useless. Maybe I can uses them for cocktail coasters., but for educational purposes forget it.

Great Deck For Exploring The Constellations!
This is a great deck for learning about the constellations. On the front of each card is a diagram of a constellation on a blue background. On the back is the name of the constellation, an image of the mythological creature it represents with the constellation superimposed over it, its position and area, brightest star and number of visible constituent stars, zodiac sign (if applicable), and notes on the constellation's origin and history. I bought this deck for my 3.5 year old who's really into stars right now. He uses the warrior cards like Hercules and Orion to fight against the animals like the bear and the snake. That helps him to memorize who they are and what they represent. The cards are glossy which makes them stick together the first time you pull them out of the deck. They measure 3 1/4" x 4", perfect size for holding in your hands while stargazing at night. This deck contains 48 of the 88 recognized constellations in the sky - so not every constellation, but the more popular ones are there including all 12 signs of the zodiac. Here's a list of what's included:Andromeda, Aquarius, Aquila, Ara, Aries, Auriga, Bootes, Cancer, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Capricornus, Cassiopeia, Centaurus, Cephus, Cetus, Corona Australis, Corona Borealis, Corvus, Crater, Crux (Southern Cross), Cygnus, Delphinus, Draco, Equuleus, Eridanus, Gemini, Hercules, Hydra, Leo, Lepus, Libra, Lupus, Lyra, Ophiuchus, Orion, Pegasus, Perseus, Pisces, Piscis Austrinus, Sagitta, Sagittarius, Scorpius, Serpens, Taurus, Triangulum, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Virgo. These cards are highly recommended not only for the boy warrior, but also the novice astronomer or anyone who wants to know more about the constellations!
