GemRed 82412 Digital Angle Gauge (Green Backlight)

Great product. $10 less than the one I got at Harbor Freight and 100 times better. And free shipping with Prime. Showed up the day after I ordered it. Measures absolute angles so it works great as a level. But also does relative angles. Easy to read inside or outside, even in direct sunlight. Or in the dark with the backlight. The backlight turns off after a short time to save battery life but the display stays active. Moving it makes the backlight pop back on.Accuracy is exactly as advertised. About +- .2 degrees. Better than a bubble level. If I measure an angle of a surface and it shows 0.8 deg. I can then flip it around to all 3 other sides, and see numbers like 89.2, 89.4, 0.7. Or rotate it 180 to measure the same angle from the other side, and the number is normally +- 0.1 or the same value.There are two arrows that point up and down to indicate which direction is the zero angle.When you turn it upside down to measure an angle from below, the numbers display inverted to make it easy to read.The base is magnetic, but not the sides. Easy to attach to something like a framing square to make it a long reaching level.And it comes with a belt pouch and battery!I couldn't be happier. Perfect simple tool. Doesn't add extra buttons to make it look "better", or lie about its accuracy by displaying extra zeros to get people to buy it. Don't waste your money on those. This is the angle finder and electronic level you are looking for.

Works great on steel fabrication work

I purchased this to ensure my table saw blade was square to my table - it works well but it is sensitive and tends to jump back and forth - so one needs to take a reading and wait, the adjust, take reading etc.. overall a good product and worth the small investment.

Gives me repeatable, accurate angles on all of my saws. I love the fact that it's magnetic too.

Item arrived quickly, well-packaged and as described. I've used it to "tune up" two table saws, one band saw and one miter saw, as well as one 90-degree band saw sled. It's much easier to get the correct angle compared to using my precision square (which gives the exact same 90-degreee reading). Excellent device; excellent seller; recommend it. Time will tell how it does over the long-haul.

Arrived on time and in good condition

I bought this digital angle reader to adjust my miter saw. The idea of this tool is great. But in practical application it proved to be not so useful. Its bottom side is only side that is magnetic. To adjust the vertical angle of the blade one has to put it on the table surface of the saw and zero it in that position. Then you flip it 90 degree and attache it to the blade with a power of the magnet. At that point the tool gets "confused" between negative or positive angles of the blade. And the digits on display "jump " from positive and negative too, making it hard to understand which way to adjust the blade. It would me good if the tool had magnetized its vertical sides too, so the reading would be closer to the zeroed number.

Handy tool for table saw setup. The markings for tilting the blade on any table saw are only a guide. For real accuracy one of these is perfect

This is the cheapest one I could find and done.I was pleased to discover that I already had my saw set at exactly 90 degrees when this arrived.Just sayin ..
