Great Value - HIGH air flow, more quiet than expected
I'm an aquaponics guy and raise my own tilapia. I've tried a few different pumps out there and so far this brand has been the best value based on two main things: #1) Air flow per dollars spent - This pump puts out GREAT air flow through two separate outlets that don't depend on each other. That's a huge benefit that eliminates having to have a "T" fitting AND two adjustment valves, which can not only slow your air flow but it's a pain in the ass to adjust. #2) Noise - This pump puts out a little noise, but surprisingly less than I would have expected for a high volume pump. I'd say about 30% more noise than a Tetra Whisper pump but 300% more air flow given the equivalently rated Whisper. It also has very little vibration. Extra bonuses include the 2 outlets as mentioned, and adjustable air flow which is really cool. I own a bunch of pumps, including several Whispers like the Whisper 20, Whisper 40, and the larger Tetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150 which even that produces only 2.6 liters/min air flow while this sucker puts out 7.8 liters/min, although the Whisper is definitely the quietest pump on the market. BOTTOM LINE: There are other pumps that put out more air flow but they are much more expensive and very loud. There are also more quiet pumps on the market but you would need 2 or 3 of those to put out the same air volume as this one. For the techies out there, specifications on the box says: Power = 3W ; Pressure = >3.768 PSI ; Air Output = 7.8L/Min ; Noise = <40 dB ; Weight = 1.5 Lbs ; Size = 162mm X 100mm X 87mm (6.4" X 4" X 3.4"). Comes with a 4 foot cord.

Works great
The fish in my in my outdoor pond were looking sluggish. I tested the ph,acid and chlorine levels and everything checked out ok. I figured maybe my water feature was not moving the water fast enough to keep it aerated so I decided to add this pump. My pond is 10x8 and about 2 to 3 feet deep. I was surprised that this little pump was able to move so much air. Minutes after adding it to my pond the fish came alive and started swimming around. The pump puts out a lot of air, even in 3 feet of water the bubbles make it all the way to the top. The pump does not come with any tubing or instructions (at least in my box) and it does not have an on and off switch. There is just a knob to control how much air you want it to pump. It uses 1/4" diameter air tubing. I used Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Ponds Ceramic Air Stone Diffusers, 40mm Diameter with this pump. Compared to your typical aquarium pump, this pump is quiet. It has been running constantly since I bought it and I have not experienced any issues. The pump is not waterproof so if you plan to use it outdoors is has to be protected from the elements. Also make sure there is adequate air flow around the unit or else the motor may burn out. Update 4/21/2013: The pump has been running non stop for a year now without any issues. Update 02/25/2014: 2 years of non stop use and the pump is still going.

Solid performer.....
This is a nice pump at a fair price. I'm using it for an under gravel filter on a 25 year old 55 gallon aquarium. I DO NOT like powerheads. Too much time required to service & keep running. My personal preference is to use an air pump. I chose the 2 nozzle option & it provides plenty of air power to do the job well. I like the ability to adjust the amount of air used. I like that it's efficient in using only 3W of power (that's what's quoted in the specs. I DID NOT confirm that). It is bigger than I expected. It's not ridiculously huge but quite a bit bigger than the pump I've replaced.....and bigger than any pump I've ever had. It's a little noisy. Not crazy loud but it is louder than the pump I had, which was completely silent. My aquarium is mounted in a wall & the pump is located inside a cabinet in a utility room. I can still hear it on the outside but it's a manageable noise level. My wife can deal with it so all is good. iIf it were in a living space, I think it would drive me crazy. This noise is the only reason I didn't provide a 5 star rating. Bottom line: A good pump at a fair price that performs well....just the least little bit noisy for my liking.

So far, so good...
I am using this pump for a 2 site (5 gallon buckets) DWC hydroponic set up. In my initial quality test, I ran this pump on the highest output setting for 48 hours straight. I can say that the pump has already outperformed other single-outlet models I have tried in the past. The pump along with two cheap Walmart airstones (one in each bucket) delivered that so desired "misting" effect in the space between the water surface and the bottom of the net pots (approx. 5"). I am so far very pleased with the quality of the pump. As far as the noise goes, this pump is QUIET. I have worked with lots of similarly priced air pumps and this one is certainly the quietest for its air output. I would recommend this pump to anyone running small to medium hydroponics systems. Any more than 4 sites and you may want to consider a commercial pump. I would imagine that this pump would be very nice for fish tanks as well. I will be putting this pump to a very rough test over the next 3 months running it pretty much non-stop. I will post back if the pump shows any signs of failure or malfunction.

OMG, loving it!
So I just got the product in today. It's sexy and bigger than I had imagined! Which, I think psychologically makes it seem more powerful, though it really is compared to other 3 watt air pumps. Love the adjusting knob. Seems like it is a high quality air pump. I have only used it 1 day, so I don't know how long it will last. At max power, it does seem a bit loud, but I don't mind it at all because it's not near my bedroom or tv. The only bad thing I would say is that Amazon always takes forever to ship anything and everything! but it did arrive fast once they shipped it. Over all, love it! Except maybe the metal tubing; it should have been plastic to keep air lines and air safe from rust and whatnot that degrades overtime, in my opinion. But I don't know if that part of the air pump is stainless steel or not, so for now I'll be assuming it is. Anyway, you can't beat the price for the power. I will order more if needed in the near future.

Good and bad.
They always start out quiet then get very loud. They still produce great air volume but you can hear 1 across the house, let alone a full fish room humming.

Work great
This pump works good for my 5 gallon DWC setup. I'm using it for air in 6 buckets altogether, 3 per side. This is my first year doing the hydroponics and its most likely under powered for 6 buckets but its working OK so far. I was torn between using an aerator or trying the kratky method. I decided to go the aeration route so even if it is slightly under powered for 6 buckets I figure some air is better than none at all. Next year I plan on adding several more buckets which will require a more powerful pump but will probably still run this one to at least 4 buckets. This pump is also pretty quiet, I've seen the reviews from people complaining of it being loud and maybe they just got a defective unit. My pump has been running 24/7 for the last 2 months and I don't even notice its there. My setup sits outside on our deck so a big thanks to my local cable company who left a spare weatherproof demarc box when they ran a new drop a few years ago, glad I held on to it.

Perfect for hydroponics
This is great. I’ve had it for a little over a month on everyday use and the plants are happy. It’s not to loud. It’s not silent either but nothing unreasonable. I will give an updated review in a few months to state how it holds up unless I have a Problem before then. However at this point I wish I would’ve got the bigger one with 4 air tube slots instead of 2. Definitely recommend getting for hydroponics or aerating teas….. several months later, still going strong! Just a recommendation to hold it at a higher level than whatever level your bucket or tank is because when the power goes out, the water can work it’s way down the tube and into the pump, I caught it in time so my pump is still working great. Just keep that in mind, great product! I ended up also getting the 4 piece hookup because I liked this one so much

SUPER SILENT? what a joke
It is so damn loud we can't use it even during the day! Also has a weird plug which wasn't mentioned, had to figure what the plug was then wait another several days for an extension plug to be delivered!

It's loud!
Although this pumps air wonderfully, it's loud. Very loud. Direct from unpacking, it's running at 62dB. This is louder than normal conversation and is almost as loud as street noise. With doors closed, I can still hear it pumping away in other rooms. Should it be this loud? Unfortunately, it's expensive, it's not broken and I have to keep on using it until it dies.

Hydrofarm Air Pump 2 Outlets 3W 7.8L/min
Good strong pump for almost three air stones. Fairly quiet. Overall good product. UPDATE... after about a year, this pump is so loud I can't have it running on any of my tanks. The Tetra whipser air pumps are much quieter. Waste of money.
