I wanted a unit at home that I could test a battery with. The price on this was reasonable so I ordered one. When It came in I took it to work with me and used it for a few weeks checking batteries at the shop. Works fine, the only complaint I have is the load activation dial is not spring loaded and has no stop when backing off. It will just keep turning. Keep that in mind. Just back it off till no load is shown and maybe a quarter to half a turn extra.. Other than that it works fine. Just a basic battery load tester that does the job. Great for home use

This tester works well. It does have separate voltage sensing cables within the main current carrying cables. It's a nice effective test tool for not a whole lot of money.

Will not go past 300 amps without the overtemp alarm going off

I tested two batteries with this so far. Works great. Initial inspection was good. Appears to be well constructed.

I bought this to test my starter as advertised. What I'm mad about is a 20 dollar volt meter tests it the same way. This does NOT read how many amps your starter is drawing. It can only do a 15 second draw test on the battery. I was however to test my starter cable by testing the battery load at the end of it. It dropped to 9 volts with a 250 amp draw. I then tested a 300 amp load on 1gauge wire with 15ft instead of 5ft of 4 gauge and it stayed at about 10.5 volts.

Excellent tool paid for itself many times already
