Works well for applying clear and antiquing wax to painted furniture
I've been refinishing some "repurposed" furniture finds--some with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and others with the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint . Part of the appeal of pieces painted with these specialty paints is the final finish of waxes--clear wax for a luminous matte finish and dark antiquing wax for adding accent to certain areas. You need a brush that is strong and firm, yet pliable, to work the wax over the furniture piece and into every detail area. This brush by ChalkPro worked great for my purposes. It's large enough to cover large surface areas, but is also small enough to work the wax into all of the carved details and curvy turns of furniture legs. This ChalkPro Paint & Wax Brush is made of densely-packed white hog bristles that are flattened for ease of applying the wax evenly. The metal ferrule seems to be firmly clamped around the top of the bristles to hold them in place. The wooden handle is slightly curved and comfortable in my hand. The bristles of the brush are in an oval shape that is a bit over 2-inches wide. It holds plenty of wax, works it over the whole surface, and even buffs the finish.I've experienced a small amount of shedding; but not necessarily more than I've had with other brushes. It helps to work your brush a bit with your hand to release any dust or loose bristles before you start using it for paint or wax.The brushes need to be washed with hot water and soap to remove the wax between uses.

Sheds worse then my cat
I really liked the feel and look of this brush when I first got it. Also the detailed instructions enclosed regarding cleaning and care of the brush. I rarely clean a furniture wax brush and that is also what is recommended.Per previous reviews, I did a lot of shaking and slapping of the brush to 'de-shed' before using it.I did have some shedding during use with simple Johnson's Wax which was a pain to pick out of my furniture before it dried. Also, it takes time do this.I am a 'gentle' waxer who will do more coats of wax oppose to pushing in heavily with the brush.Final opinion - this is not a top of the line brush and will most likely not last long. I can't recommend it at this price listed as something suggested in the name as a product used with Chalk Paint or wax.If I did purchase it again, I play with the idea of using a syringe and injecting at the base within the bristles some E6000. But this should not be required of a user.

Wonder Full Good Quality Brush
Wonder Full Good Quality BrushI use it for adding prune sealer to tree branches that a bucket truck would have been needed for in the past. When I attach it to a telescoping extension pole , with a paint brush mounting bracket adapter added on it's end tip.I use the new sealer non toxic non petroleum based from the naturalist nature catalog - it washes off ones hands and the brush and the pole with only soapy water. Heals the red wounds so high up off the ground that only a bucket truck could have reached if at all in the tree canopy , yet I do not need one I do it all from the ground safely and it holds up.No tree sap bleeding, no dead limbs thereafter- while others do nothing to protect there trees , it's a shame more people don't do the same.

Works Great!
I've been applying wax with a rag for a long time, and this brush has been a revelation. I save so much time applying wax to my furniture pieces now. Yes, it sheds a little bit, but the time it takes me to pick off a few bristles here and there is nothing in comparison to the time it saves. It took me a little while to get the hang of how best to grasp the brush - it's kind of heavy and at first it tired my hand quickly. But now that I've used it for a little while I've gotten used to that. The brush is very high quality and looks like it will last for a very long time.I'm very happy with this purchase and am considering at some point in getting the small one.

Great quality brush
Great brush ! I bought 3 of them and used them for painting furniture with the Annie Sloan chalk paint and they worked great ! The AS paint brushes were 3 tunes the price for the same quality! I also used them to wax the furniture! Will buy more as needed.

Not available in my area....
After hunting for a wax brush all over the Savannah area, I resorted to the internet and found this one on Amazon. It is exactly what I needed to apply wax to my chalk painted items after distressing them. The handle is a perfect size and the round brush makes applying wax very easy. I did have some problem with loose bristles during the first application but that problem is gone after using the brush on one piece of furniture. I would recommend this item to others.

Great brush for Soft wax
Nice brush. Significantly cheaper than the ASCP brush. I used it with ASCP soft wax and it worked well. At first there were tiny dust/threads that came off the brush but I washed it and then it was fine. Minimal hair loss.
