After many years & trying most of the top brands, this is my favorite "go to" dependable blade
over the years Ive tried at least a dozen or more of the top brands. These are my new favorites. What i really like about them:1. no matter if i have a 1 day beard... or a 2 week beard- these cut through it the same nice way & i dont have to go over & over to get the job done2. I can shave in a hurry (which is most of the time) without worrying about cutting myself due to a slip up here or there. With these, ive not drawn blood as of yet and they cut just as close & as smooth as the sharpest blades ive ever used. When im in a hurry i dont need to be worried about getting blood spots on my dress shirts. I usually use a shave brush & cup held shaving cream, however ive also shaved using just plain bar soaps (like Ivory) rubbed onto my face in a hurry with warm water. Results were surprisingly just as good. These are forgiving blades, yet they're just as sharp as almost anything ive ever used (Feathers were a maybe a tad sharper, but you better spend more time prepping your real estate or you will cut n slice)My personal test was to shave with my "less dominate hand" and see if i can get through a full shave without any cuts or nicks, these blades passed that test. (BTW- My prior favorites were "Shark" blades)Note: my razor is an older (1970s) long handled Gillette adjustable razor (built like a tank & survived many drops) i also like the ergonomics of it, especially the long handle (Its nice to be able to adjust the opening on it for a 1-day beard... or 7 day + beard)ive included a few images of my razor as well, as i think it makes a BIG difference. (Note: I have extra large hands)

Just can't escape Gillette
I suppose it is somewhat ironic that I started using a DE razor so I could stop giving so much money to Gillette only to find that they make some very good DE blades. These are easily the best out of all the blades I have used. That includes Merkur, Dorco, Personna Blues, Astra SP, Shark, and the infamous Feather. Yes, these give me better shaves than the ever popular Feather blades. Sharper does not always mean a better shave. I find these Gillettes have the perfect balance between sharpness and smoothness for my skin and they perform extremely well in all of my razors from my Merkur 34c to my vintage Gillettes. As far as longevity goes I can get about 5 shaves from one blade. Could I probably stretch them a bit more? Yeah I guess. But if I can get 5 great shaves from one blade that's good enough for me. It's still a heck of a lot cheaper than cartridges and much easier on the skin. Give these a try if you haven't already because they really are very good.

One of the sharpest and smoothest DE blades out there.
Razor blades are a highly subjective thing; what works well for one person may not work as well for another. For my face, that has the dreaded one-two combination of a coarse/heavy beard with sensitive skin, these work superbly with the right touch and technique. I use them in a Merkur 34C, also known as "The Heavy Duty," which is on the milder side of the spectrum as far as DE safety razors are concerned.I ordered these from the seller Wish4Star, and am pleased to say they were the real deal; no fakes here, folks. Each box contains five blades per, with the individual blades wrapped in an outer paper envelope with an inner wax paper liner. The presentation would almost be perfect were it not for the sometimes overly generous amount of wax the St. Petersburg factory uses on the four corners of the blade to secure it inside the inner wrapper, sometimes even covering the edge of the blade itself. Thankfully, I haven't found it to be an issue in either my razor or the shave itself. After a proper lathering right out of the shower with Proraso Red croap and an Omega boar brush, these give me an incredibly smooth and reasonably close shave if I "ride the cap" (that's using a shallow angle sufficient enough that you can hear but not feel the blade cutting your whiskers) and use gentle strokes with no additional pressure. So long as I don't go crazy, I get no razor burn or irritation from these at all, even with J-hooks or blade buffing. You'll also be pleased to know that these blades are, in fact, platinum and teflon coated. The only caveat is that I can't seem to get more than two shaves tops from these before they start to pull and tug, but that may be due to the fact I shave both my very coarse beard and head every other day and my technique admittedly not being perfect. Your mileage, as they say, may very; it's not unheard of for these to last through five or even six shaves for other guys.Bottom line: GSBs may not be the greatest value in upper tier DE blades, but despite their minor quibbles, I believe they're completely worth the price of admission. Four stars, easy.
