Engaging Read
Drape Expectations is the fourth book in the Caprice DeLuca mystery series. It is as entertaining as the other books in this series. I was not disappointed. Ms. Smith engages the reader from the first page and keeps the reader engrossed until the very end. Cozy mysteries are my favorite genre and this mystery met my expectations completely.Caprice De Luca is an interior decorator turned home stager has established a home staging business. She agrees to stage the home of Alanna Goodwin the girlfriend of her friend, Ace Richland. Alanna is far from a prim and proper Southern belle. Much to her dismay, Caprice finds Alanna home murdered with, Ace pronounced to be the prime suspect. As Caprice investigates and learns of Alanna’s secrets, which could have led to her murder, Caprice is lead to more clues. As Caprice questions additional suspects, she soon finds someone will resort to violence to stop her sleuthing. Grant, her brother's partner, and her sometime boyfriend helps caprice in her sleuthing. The story has a tightly woven plot with many twists, turns and red herrings to keep you guessing. Readers who appreciate well written cozy mysteries readers will enjoy helping Caprice solve this crime. I really like Caprice, her family, friends, pets and the town, Kismet, PA. This is the second book I've read in this series, and I'm definitely hooked. The relationships between Caprice, Seth and Grant are appropriately written, including all of Caprice's doubts and concerns about each one as she tries to choose between them. I, personally, don’t care for love triangles, but the author deftly resolved that concern by the end of the book. As in real life, balancing one’s time between work, caring for your beloved animals and helping out your family is not rarely easy. It far worse if trying to solve a murder is thrown into the mix. As readers already know, Caprice has a soft spot for animals and treats Lady, her dog and Sophia, her cat as members of her family. Caprice also adds a new fur baby to her household, Mirabelle. This is the white Persian cat that had been Alanna’s.I’ve had the opportunity to read most of the books in this series since Staged to Death was published. This series take has grown and the characters and plots have continually developed. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest that you read them in order. That makes it much easier to follow the family relationships that are referenced in the books and to keep track of the other characters. This installment has intrigue, suspense, suspects, humor, family values, cute animals, forgiveness, romance and great food with delicious recipes which end the book. I recommend this, along with the rest of the series, you will not be disappointed.

Another GREAT book in the series
This is Caprice De Luca Home Staging Mystery Series, Book 4 . As like the others, it has the wonderful mystery, suspense, humor and a little romance that makes the book wonderful. When ever Caprice has a scheduled home staging, there will also be a dead body and a new murder for her to nose around on. This time is the new fiancé of her good friend the rock star, Ace. Alanna isn't known for her sweet personality and Caprice and her butted heads when Caprice staged Alanna's home to sell before marrying and moving in with Ace. Caprice would never wish anyone to be murdered, and as a favor to her friend Ace, she is looking to help to find out who did this. When it comes to her family, they are the most important things in her life with her pets. Her grandmother "nana's" health has taken a turn. Funny how it is at the same time her grandmothers elusive son, has entered their lives again. If her life isn't crazy enough, she must choose between the two men she cares about. (I was thrilled with the one she chose!) Another fantastic book by Karen Rose Smith!! A great, great series. I really thought I had figured out the "who dunnit" this time, but the author has surprised me. Again!! Great book!!

Enjoyable book
I liked this book better than the last one on the series. Caprice finally makes a decision. About which one of her “suitors” she prefers. The murder victim was easy to pick out immediately, but the killer, not as quickly. I can’t wait to see how Caprice and Grant progress!

Drape Expectations is a great read!
Drape Expectations is the 4th book in the Caprice DeLuca series.Caprice's friend, Ace Richland, a former 80's rock star wants Caprice to stage his girlfriends house to sell. Alanna Goodwin is a tough customer in that she questions Caprice's ideas for staging. When Caprice gets a call from Ace stating that he found Alanna strangled with a tieback from her velvet drapes, it doesn't really come as a surprise. Caprice investigates when it becomes apparent that her friend, Ace, seems to be the primary suspect. In the middle of this, Caprice, must decide between two men: Seth, a doctor she had recently started dating or Grant, a family friend . If you are looking for an entertaining, well written mystery, then I recommend this series. In addition to be well written, it has likeable characters, and a great plot. I also love this series because like the author, Caprice is an animal lover who rescues animals in need and ends up with Alanna's cat, Mirabelle. This series also includes some mouth watering recipes in the back.

Southern Flavor and Murder
Southern Flavor and MurderKaren Rose Smith's latest mystery has a different twist with Caprice De Luca home staging a southern mansion. Caprice's friend Ace Richland--who appeared in previous books in the series--is almost engaged, but the woman he thinks he loves isn't what she seems. She's plotting against him. When she's found murdered, Ace is the main suspect.Of course, Caprice won't rest when a friend is in trouble, and, just that fast, she's hot on the trail of another murderer. She makes a decision about Mr. Right in this book. (And yes, though it was a tough choice, it was the one I was rooting for.) There are twists and turns and a new stray for Caprice to adopt too. This was my favorite De Luca mystery yet. Looking forward to the next.

excellent cozy mystery - one of my favorite series!
An excellent cozy mystery - one of my favorite series! I enjoy the author's vivid descriptions of Caprice's vintage clothing, details of her business staging homes for sale as well as her interactions with her family and beloved pets. I also enjoy a little romance in my cozies and it was good to see Caprice moving forward in this area. I don't like to read mysteries that are solved in the first chapters of a book, so I appreciated that the mystery in this book was not easily solved and not until the end - there were lots of people to choose from on the way. I would highly recommend this book for cozy fans that haven't already discovered the Caprice De Luca series!
