Mad About Monkeys (About Animals)

I love this book! My girlfriend is a primatologist and absolutely loves this! It is a wonderful introduction to primates and explains the facts very well. We especially love the bits about evolution. It is very clear Owen Davey did his research before writing this and it is greatly appreciated. This is perfect for any kids or adults or aspiring primatologists that love primates and want to expand their primate book collections. Highly recommend!

My favorite children’s books are the ones that are beautifully illustrated and educational. My husband loves monkeys and is very serious when it comes to distinguishing the different types of primates (don’t ever call a chimpanzee a monkey). This book goes into depth about the various species while still making it easily understandable to kids. I am so impressed I can’t wait to get more books from this series!!

My seven year old loved this book. And as a graphic designer, I enjoyed it too. The illustrations and layout are beautiful. The text is not too difficult for young children and is quite informative. My son especially enjoyed the two pages where he got to guess based on information previously presented whether the monkeys were Old World or New World. I appreciate that the author did not shy away from giving a brief explanation of evolution and natural selection. Looking forward to ordering more Owen Davey books.

These are for book lovers who wish to pass that love to their children. The books have a ton of very interesting information that is easy to understand. The art is so beautiful. We are very picky about the books we bring into our home and these definitely make the cut. I enjoy looking at them too!! We are slowing buying all the books in this series!

Wow. We have a lot of really beautiful books but this one has got to be one of the best. The pictures are just so cool!!!! The book is huge and nicely made, and the information is great.

We love this series of books. They are well made and very artistic. We got this to build up our homeschool library.

This book is jam packed with facts about monkeys. It’s educational and fun and even has a few life size illustrations in it. Definitely a great book for an older child.

Love this serious. My littles’ favorite page, in any of them currently, is the page about diet.Informative and gorgeous. I enjoy it just as much as the kiddos!In this one in particular, evolution comes up... as I don’t believe in the theory of evolution, this can be tiresome. However, knowing that my littles will be exposed to the theory of evolution, this will give me the chance to explain my beliefs and conviction while encouraging them to form their own.

These books are a total must have in your child’s book collection! We have the full set and as home schoolers we find the ratio of reading to illustrations is perfect. The facts are great and it’s written is an interesting way that makes learning fun!!
